Do you read Genesis 3:15 as prophecy, symbolism, or both?

I tend to read it as both. On the symbolic level, it captures the ongoing human struggle with brokenness and the tension between good and evil that runs through the entire biblical narrative. It speaks to a pattern we keep seeing, not just a single event.

At the same time, many readers see prophetic significance in the language about eventual victory and restoration. The verse is brief, but it casts a long shadow, it feels less like a fully detailed prediction and more like a seed of hope planted early in the story.

Holding both layers together makes the passage richer for me. It acknowledges the universal human condition while also pointing toward a larger redemptive arc rather than leaving the story unresolved.
