Does the Bible List Other Names of Demons Besides Satan?

This was interesting:

A lot of names we tend to associate with demons may have more to do with folklore than actual biblical basis.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that, Sister. Scripture talks about many different demons and evil spirits.

Spirit of slumber, unclean spirits, The saiyr, Strong’s Concordance #H8163, literally “the hairy ones,” are demons who are worshipped through idols (idolatry). Jeroboam, the first king of the Kingdom of Israel, not only created his own version of the priesthood that existed in Jerusalem, but also commanded that they help the people worship such spirits through idols (2Chronicles 11:15).

The shedim (or shed), Strong’s #H7700, literally means “devil” or, according to the 1906 Jewish Encyclopedia, “storm demons.” They, too, were worshipped by the Israelites (Deuteronomy 32:17, see also Psalm 106:37).

The boy who was epileptic and the disciples couldn’t cast it out may be a spirit of Epilepsy or a spirit of infirmary? This one is stronger than some common demons so only goes by prayer and fasting.

Spirit of death, lying spirits and all sorts of them in scripture. I’ve listened to a Lot of Derek Prince videos and he got thrust into demonology. He thought he was called to ministry and one day a woman comes up and says, I have a demon help me…So he had to try and did get the demon cast out and also many many others during his ministry. If you want to learn more on the subject, I recommend youtube/Derek Prince, he talks a lot about his testimonials in dealing with evil spirits. He even cast our multiple spirits of Epilepsy at different times. I recommend him for learning. Derek says that many evil spirits that you have to know their name or they wont come out, but…some of them you can order to tell you their name, then cast it out.
