When considering the appeal of cultic-like assertions, one has to consider the the role the flesh and immature faith play. There is a similar appeal with gnosticism. There can be elements of self-righteousness, special understanding, and even pride in resisting others.
Paul wrote Timothy that those who were contentious should be gently corrected with the hope that they would escape the snare of the devil by knowing truth.
2Ti 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
2Ti 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
“Circle of the earth” would obviously be a statement towards being flat. A circle is flat and round. The earth is a sphere shape, so i dont believe this statement really is saying the earth is round, that seems to be a statement aiming more towards flat.
There does seem to be some evidence that the view of the ancient near east was a flat earth with a literal dome called the firmament. It’s not entirely clear that the biblical authors believed this literally, or merely used common language indigenous to the broader cultures of the ancient near east.
The Bible, however, isn’t meant to be a science text book. That’s not why God inspired His word.
The Earth is round in the sense of spherical, but technically an oblate spheroid. The curvature is visible in space photography, satellite data, and everyday phenomena like circumnavigation and global flight paths.
The earth is a sphere shape, is what i said i do believe. I dont think round is even a shape but i could be wrong wouldnt be the first time it happened.
@PeterC i never said the earth was flat my friend go back two post and read my response, we known now a days that the earth is round (a sphere). Because of technology and space travels we have pictures and video of the earth that clearly shows it a sphere shape. Not an egg shape. But no harm done, its ok you had tunnel vision and only seen “Flat” out of 2 of my post and felt like a correction needed to be made. What i was saying to sum it up is at the time of the bible being written humans may have thought the earth was flat, but only because they didnt have rocket ships to take them into space like we do now. And just because the bible reads that the earth is flat doesnt make it true but at the same time doesnt make everything else in the bible wrong. Humans wrote the books of the bible therefore there is room for error, but us as christians shouldnt try to figure out a way to change how the bible reads just because we actually have the technology to know the earth is round. Its ok if they thought the earth was flat then. Im sure no one ever thought to ask God if the earth was flat or not and just assumed it was and thats okay. So no i do not believe the earth is flat but i understand that at their time they may have. Thank you and God bless
Me too Brother. I know a Brother in Christ who is a flat earther. Those guys can make a good case for it and make it sound plausible. But it’s still a bunch of crap and I thnk I can prove it.
How many testimonies of other people have you ever heard before where it is said that they were taken up in spirit above the earth? A lot? I have heard testimonies like that quite a bit over time.
But, we were raised to know the earth is round. So if any of those who were taken up above earth saw a flat earth, that would be kind of big, wouldn’t it? Worthy of mention? Not one person has ever said I was taken up above earth and it was really a flat earth! So there’s proof in my mind. People would be talking about it more.
So why start the flat earth lie again? Why would they do that? Simple. If they can get you distracted and asking the wrong questions, then suddenly you are in the dark and slowly drifting from the Lord, and truth. And never underestimate the power of human stupidity to believe it.
There you go, right there is more proof. If earth is flat someone would have a rectangle on a globe stand. But 99.999999999999% of the people would laugh at it.

egg shaped?? wait a minute are you seriouly telling me that the earth is shaped more like an egg then a ball? can you show me the pictures of this? I know i have seen pictures of the earth and they were not flat, and they definitely was not shape like an egg. I would believe that it was flat before i believed it was shaped like an egg. Have you ever seen an egg? Wow the earth is a sphere, baseball shape, basketball shape, tennis ball, soccer ball, kick ball, and even a golf ball. But the earth is not flat and it is not shaped like a foot ball or egg shaped. Boy some people just need to invest in some better glasses and then they could clearly see the shape of the earth by looking at the millions of picture that have taken from space. Even if the earths equator is larger that the rest of the earth it stil does not make it an egg shape.
I can explian it to you, but I can’t understand it for you. The operative word is ‘slightly’, and its only by 21 miles or so… so when taken in from space photos… not much to notice. It is like saying ‘slightly pregnant’.
Perhaps seeing it in a perfect square will help… Does it still look round to you?
The line around it is the equator. Notice it is closer to the edges of the 450x450 square there? Still look round?

Have you seen the latest pictures that was taken of earth from Artemis? They called it the best picture to date of earth from space….and it’s round, not egg shaped! They can’t show us egg shaped pictures because the would have to admit to the lie. They probably don’t have even one real picture that’s been published.
