Exploring spiritual warfare in a story

I want to explore the them of spiritual warfare and good verse evil in a book. My idea is that some people, representing those enlightened by the Holy Spirit, have the ability to see evil beings that pose as humans, and are able to exile them back to where they belong. Hoever, many people who do not recognize the beings as evil are tempted by them and then later taken to the horrific realm where the spirits are from, representing heck.

The problem is I don’t want to use demons or evil spirits for the evil beings as that could seem problematic. So then I considered using Aliens, but the problem is many Christian’s think aliens are demonic too. (Well, for some Christians everything is demonic) but aliens would fit perfectly. If I clearly presented them as pure evil and they all are defeated, are they ok to include in a story? I need something to represent satans kingdom in the story. I think it’s ok, CS Lewis used a witch to represent Satan but not glorify witchcraft. But curious your thoughts.

I think the key is not so much what the evil beings are called, but what they represent in the story and how they are portrayed.

C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and many other Christian authors used fictional creatures, witches, dark powers, monsters, and other invented beings to explore spiritual themes without necessarily making them literal demons.

If your goal is to tell a story about temptation, deception, courage, truth, and the struggle between good and evil, I don’t see why aliens couldn’t work. Readers generally understand that fiction often uses symbols and metaphors to explore deeper truths.

Personally, I think a well-written story can sometimes help people think about spiritual realities in ways that a direct sermon cannot.

I think some Christians liked Kpop demon hunters for that reason, but my problem with that movie is they blurred the lines with Rumi being half demon. Honestly that movie is another “queer coded” one like Frozen.

anyway, many Christian’s are saying as facts aliens are demons. I believe that aliens are fake and demon is just an easy label to every unexplained story. In reality, a demon would appear much more pretty and nice than a scary alien or horned creature. I think ghosts may be a different story, but I think Aliens are just a stupid thing people believe to make attention

I think you should be able to consider that Aliens might just be evil spirits in disguise for real. But since you don’t seem like you want to believe that, but you do want to write a fiction story…you have a great premise for your “fiction” story. I don’t see the problem, lol.

I was going to respond to this, but @ellenvera already said it perfectly. :100:

There is a really good book called 'THE INVISIBLE WAR" by Donald Grey Barnhouse if you’re interested. It’s not fiction, but it is a very good look at the “invisible” enemy working among us.
