Forgive and You will be forgiven.

Beloved brethren, grace and peace be unto you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today’s message is a deep call from the Spirit of God — a message on forgiveness, redemption, and the healing of the human heart. Many people pray, many fast, and many cry before God, yet their prayers remain unanswered because their hearts still hold onto unforgiveness.

Child of God, you cannot walk in power, peace, or prosperity if your heart is still chained by bitterness. You cannot carry the fire of the Holy Ghost while holding the ashes of past wounds. Jesus Himself said, “Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” This is not a suggestion; it is a divine law.

In today’s sermon, we go deeper into:

Why forgiveness is a spiritual weapon

How unforgiveness blocks blessings

Why forgiveness is connected to healing

How to forgive even when it hurts

The mystery of releasing people so God can release you

This message will break chains, heal hearts, and restore destinies.

May the Lord touch your heart as you read. Amen.

The biblical patern for forgiveness always starts with repentance.

The Israelite making a sacrifice for his sins had to acknowledge that he was a sinner and in acknowledging his sin be sorry, otherwise his sacrifice was a pointless mockery.

God repeatedly called on a rebellous Isreal to turn from their sins ( that is repent ) and to call on God for his forgiveness..

Jesus continued to teach this as seen in Luke 17v 3.

We have the examples of Jesus and of Stephen, both of whom called on God to forgive their killers but did not themselves forgive them.

Your comments about bitterness are apt and the Christian should turn to God in prayer about incidents of hurt, were the offender has not, will not or cannot express sorrow/repentance.

There is a need to clearly say what the incident was, how it affected one, ones feelings about it and the offender and to lay it all in Gods hands for him to deal with one as well as with the offender.

Finally you pray regularly and intelligently for that offender.

I have recently ben in discussions regarding forgiving someone without that person asking for forgiveness.

Personally I don’t know how one rids themselves of anger/bitterness/malice without forgiving. Regardless of it the offender has repented. Often the person doesn’t know of believe they did wrong.

As for reconciliation there is no way reconciling with certain offenders is a good thing.

For those who believe you are not to forgive unless asked how do you deal with bitterness and anger or offenders you should not reconcile with? Trying to understand,

Who-me, you say that Jesus did not forgive only asked God to. As the Perfect Son what Jesus asked His Father for He received, so He knew God would forgive. Do you really think Jesus would ask for forgiveness for others if He didn’t forgive?

I am constantly amazed at the blindness shown by people who do not understand how God forgives and how we are to copy God.

My 6th + 7th sentances dealt with bitterness, if one is honestly praying to God about an incident. Would one not tell God about ones feelings of hurt, anger and of bitterness.

Jesus and Stephen both asked God to deal with their killers.

We won’t know untill we get to heaven how they were dealt with.

but, we do know one thing that unless they accepted Jesus as their saviour they won’t be in heaven. If they are there it will be because they repented. .

You quoted quite a few verses but what is your point?

Since you replied to me it appears you are calling me blind. I refer you to Gal 6:1

I am not trying to convince you, I am sincerely asking how you think this works because I don’t understand how one leaves anger and bitterness with the Lord without forgiving.

Of course, but it seems you are saying talk to God but don’t forgive unless the offender asks for forgiveness, what if they die before that? How do you reconcile Matt 6:14 and Luke 6:27-28 with the idea of not forgiving?

Sorry, but this caught me off guard. I’m trying to figure out what you mean. Are you implying that Jesus and Stephen were asking God to punish them? {Deal with them} Or that they we asking God to forgive them.

Jesus, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” Luke 23:34.

Stephen, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them,” Acts 7:60

Of course. Like you, me, and whoever.

“But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:8-13

Peter

Don’t forget the Old Testament, the foundation for our belief.

God does not forgive us unless we reprnt. Luke 17:3 says forgive if they repent.

The whole of the bible teaches forgiveness is only if they repent.

One tells God about ones anger, hurt feelings, bitterness inorder that God can deal with those feelings.

Why eless do we pray to God, but for him to act on what we are praying for.

Both Jesus and Stephen knew their killers were not sorry for what they were doing, so they could not cast their ‘ pearls of forgiveness before the swine of angry killers ‘ so they handed them over to God for him to deal with.

If they later repented of their sins to be forgiven and saved.

If they didn’t repent for them like all unrepentant sinners, to face Gods judgement and punishment.
