Gender separation in dorms/bathrooms/locker rooms does not curb temptation for everyone

I don’t get it. Christians are so focused on making sure Men not being attracted to a women in places like camps, college dorms, changing rooms, etc. I get this and it’s appropriate and safe to separate men and women, but what about men who are attracted to men and women who are attracted to women? That’s just as problematic, and worse of a sin as lust for the opposite sex.

So, I’m definitely not saying that men and women should share dorms and bathrooms. I’m not saying that at all. What I’m saying is that Christian places should have separate changing, sleeping, and bathing places so there is zero chance of sexual sin or temptation. I’m saying this on a personal level as I have been tempted in places that were meant to curb temptation (men’s restrooms and dorms) when I have the chance, I prefer to use private restrooms or family restrooms, and sleep alone. Unfortunately, this isn’t my current situation.

As I’ve said, I don’t think of myself as gay or lgbtq. Just like a Christian tempted by alcohol is not an alcoholic if they don’t give in.

thoughts?

Society and Christians as well cannot account for all variables and inner thoughts; they just try to prevent mass casualties. Homo, bi, and pansexuals do not constitute a majority of the population, not even 10%. Heterosexuals are kind of holding the lead.

The same argument resonates in gun control, education, and any other issue where you apply one solution to a swath of a population. God sees our hearts; church organizers do not.

One of the great sources of rage and anger my whole life, even as young as 10, was how I was treated because of my appearance. At 10, I was 6 ft tall with a five o’clock shadow and always treated as a potential rapist/pedophile, even at church! It has plagued me my whole life being 6’3’’ and 330 lbs. People always thought the worst of me because I could potentially hurt someone. It was always up to me to prove them wrong.

But what should Christians who are same sex attracted do?

The same thing anyone who is tempted by flesh should do: crucify your flesh and hold every thought captive. I Cor 6:12-20

It’s easier said than done; believe me, I know. On the outside, I was an adulterer who went through women like socks and had a Playboy collection worth over 20 grand. Now, after 3 years in jail, even an Old Navy commercial feels like porn. I have to turn away and remind myself of the price that Christ paid to save me.

I agree with this.

And, it’s not society’s job to keep you from sinning.

I can’t get out of this situation

@Josiah You really can. You just have to take the steps. Even if your flesh does not want to, pray to God to remove you, and get out of the situation. With God, all things are possible. If you really think about it. Even your education, at least there, is not worth your eternal soul.

" For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.“” Mark 8:36-38

Think about it.
