Prayers for the community and families of Grand Blanc, Michigan as they begin searching for survivors of the fire-razed church. The arson began by a mass-shooter, who was killed by police.
This occurred during services.

Crews battle large fire at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Sunday, September 28.
My heart goes out to the community and families of Grand Blanc, Michigan, in the wake of this tragic fire. The loss, fear, and trauma they are experiencing are profound, especially knowing it occurred during services. Scripture reminds us that God is close to those who are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18), and that He comforts those who mourn (Matthew 5:4).
In moments of persecution, violence, or senseless tragedy, we are called to trust in Christ, who Himself was afflicted and rejected (Isaiah 53:3). Though the world’s evil can shake us, His presence remains a refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), sustaining communities in grief and guiding them toward hope. May those affected feel His nearness, find courage in Him, and experience His love through the care of neighbours and fellow believers.
