Well then, why was the veil ripped in two?
The Spirit never opposes scripture. He supplements and compliments them.
This here is true, but it doesn’t stop there. If you dont want to believe that God speaks to people you can choose not to if you wish. But you are not correct and certainly need to pray about it.
I am enjoying this discussion and learning ![]()
appreciate you both @Edward429451 @Johann God bless
2Co_13:5 Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Or do you not yourselves perceive that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are disapproved?

I have learned to be very selective in engaging in online discussions.

I have aswell, and theres the fact a lot of times, I will observe as I do not feel qualified to particpate or, that I cannot engage on the same level so I remain on the side lines enjoying it like watching a well rounded sparring match, or debate ![]()
Hebrews 5:14
**14 **But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil…./KJV
2nd Corinthians 4:18
**18 **While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal…./KJV
1 Corinthians 2:14
**14 **But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned…./KJV
You should not be intimidated of a spiritual relationship with the Lord. There is noting to fear from Him. Need scripture?
Luke 11:11
**11 **If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?…/KJV
Actually when the Lord spoke to me in an audible voice, I did not test Him. I…didn’t need to so I never gave it a thought. I have tested spirits before when I get a thought and I’m not sure so I say is that you Lord? But when Jesus Him self walks into the room, even when you can not see Him, you know who’s there. It clicks a switch way down inside of you. You can feel Him in every fiber of your being. WHen Jesus walks in, every body knows it !!
The Cessation of Sign Gifts and the Sufficiency of Scripture
Cessationism holds that miraculous sign gifts—such as prophecy, tongues, and divine healing—served a foundational role in the early church but are no longer operative today. Dr. Aniol argues that these gifts were given to authenticate the apostles’ message before the completion of the New Testament canon.
Since we now have the complete revelation of God in Scripture, there is no need for continued extrabiblical revelation. Paul affirms this in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, teaching that Scripture is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Many continuationists—such as Wayne Grudem, John Piper, and Sam Storms—attempt to reconcile their belief in modern prophecy with the finality of Scripture. However, to do so, they introduce a second-tier form of prophecy that is fallible and distinct from the authoritative revelation given in Scripture. This position, as Dr. Aniol argues, lacks biblical support. The Bible does not describe prophecy as fallible—when God speaks, His words are always true, authoritative, and infallible (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).
Additionally, ongoing revelation can lead to confusion and spiritual instability. Many believers chasing modern prophetic words often struggle with doubt and uncertainty, as they rely on subjective experiences rather than the unchanging truth of Scripture. This reliance on continued revelation detracts from the sufficiency of God’s Word and can lead to dangerous theological errors.
The Dangers of Seeking Extra-Biblical Revelation
Many believers today are influenced by teachings encouraging them to seek direct, personal revelation from God outside of Scripture. Statements like “God told me” or “I feel like the Lord is saying” have become commonplace in evangelical circles. While well-intended, these practices can lead to confusion and undermine confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture.
Scott points out that the Bible never instructs believers to seek private, mystical revelation. Instead, it calls them to meditate on God’s Word, seek wisdom, and trust in the Spirit’s guidance through Scripture (Psalm 119:105; James 1:5). When believers seek God’s will, they should do so through prayer, Scripture, and the application of biblical wisdom—not through subjective impressions.
We tend to forget WHAT the gospel is. And hence, to guard our hearts with all dilligence.

Brother, you can listen to Peters, Piper, Cloverdale or a homeless guy, that’s fine and your business.
John: 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
**28 **And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand…./KJV
I will rely on Scripture and the word of God.
May the Lord bless you and give you wisdom & understanding.
Not here to argue friend.
Have a blessed day.

I had asked the question, why was the veil torn in two, but no one answered so I wil explain it best I know how.
The veil being torn in two at the moment of Christ’s death on the cross symbolizes that the barrier between an and God had been removed. It was torn in two from top to bottom so it would be obvious that it was God that did it.
Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross was the payment which allowed this. No more would people have to go to a Priest to ask God for forgiveness. They could now approach God directly and personally.
Matthew 27:
**50 **Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
**51 **And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;…/KJV
The veil was a separation between the Holy of Holies where God dwelt with man on earth while outside of the Holy of Holies is where man dwelt. And now, because of Jesus’s sacrifice man could approach God themselves and they did not need the intercession of a Priest. So now we can approach God. God would now speak back to us directly. It’s as simple as that.
So pray to the Lord and listen for Him to answer.
You do not guard your heart by building walls around your feelings. You guard it by deciding what gets planted in it. Proverbs lays it down plain. “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” ~Proverbs 4:23. That means your life is not first shaped by what happens around you, but by what you allow to take root inside you.
Think about that. If the Word of God is not filling your heart, something else is. There is no empty ground. Jesus made that clear when He said, “for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh” ~Luke 6:45. What comes out of you under pressure is not random. It is stored up. It is what you have been feeding on.
That is why the passage starts with, “attend to my words… let them not depart from thine eyes… keep them in the midst of thine heart” ~Proverbs 4:20-21. This is not casual exposure. This is intentional intake. You do not drift into a guarded heart. You train it by staying in the Word, holding it in front of your eyes, and pressing it down into your inner life until it shapes how you think, speak, and respond.
A lot of people try to filter behavior while neglecting the source. They try to manage what comes out, but Scripture goes deeper. It deals with what is stored within. If the heart is filled with truth, life comes out. If it is filled with the world, then the world comes out. There is no middle ground.
So the real question is simple and direct. What are you feeding your heart daily? Because whatever you are feeding it today will be what flows out of you tomorrow.
That’s right.
The word of God is food for the spirit. Edible food is food for the body. The way I understand that is whatever you think about a lot goes into your heart and becomes a part of who you are.
If you constantly meditate on the word of God, you become the man who hungers for the Lord.
If you’re constantly looking at women and sex, then that becomes who you are.
