Happy Easter!
@all Is there anything wrong with Easter Egg Hunts? Nope. Is there anything wrong with Easter Bunnies and Easter Baskets for the little ones? Again, nope. There is nothing wrong with these fun family traditions, as long as you instill the truth of what Easter is actually about. We celebrate Easter to celebrate Jesus coming to earth, and although He could have called down angels to wipe out those who were trying to kill Him, He allowed them to kill Him. Not just kill Him, but torture and humiliate and nail Him to a cross. He allowed this.
Jesus came into the world, healed the sick, raised the dead, and gave sight to the blind. Then, He fulfilled His main purpose of coming. He was killed for our Sins. He went to the cross to pay the price for all sin and shed His blood for us all. He did so for you. This profound act of selfless love offers the promise of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life to all who believe. It is a testament to His boundless compassion and unwavering commitment to humanity’s redemption.
If you allow His blood to be your blood, His payment for all sin to be your payment for your sin, and His death to be your death, you will have everlasting peace and happiness with Him. Easter is the day we have set aside to remember what happened. Death could not stop Him. The tomb could not hold Him.
This is what Easter is all about. The greatest gift you will ever receive. The gift of forgiveness and salvation. The gift of eternal life. He did all these things and suffered all things so that you can enter Heaven. So that you will not die, but have everlasting life. He paid the ultimate price, so you do not have to. The greatest and final sacrifice, ever.
Peter
