Good morning!! What heavenly things make you feel excited & longing after???
Most of us can be prone to spiritual “sleepiness” or even “lukewarm” moments, WHEN we don’t have the FIRE for God consistently. BUT I want to give you some possible MOTIVATIONs to think about – possibly bring out that Fire, or Passion for heavenly things!! (Even if just a starting point of change…)
Maybe…ONLY maybe: you were like me, who for a while didn’t have the “hunger & thirst” for Jesus (when I didn’t spend a lot of time THINKING upon & reading His Word AND praying for the Holy Spirit to move on my heart and soul) – I just slowly “sunk” into all the worldly busy things like everyone else… BUT NOT Everything IS LOST YET, and NOT ALL OF OUR REWARDS are stolen by the distractions of this world (or by the Devil) YET!
EVEN as small as a mustard seed CAN GROW INTO A Huge Tree (Matt 17:20, Luke 17:6), and starting with a prayer and a few verses a day, PLUS a lot of reminders to THINK UPON JESUS & Heavenly things (maybe with cell phone reminders :)) [and maybe even a good Godly book or film like “The Chosen” by Angel Studios] - WILL soon bloom that small kindling faith into a bigger flame and BIG FIRE for REVIVAL! (Faithful brothers & sisters can ABSOLUTELY help us in this process - IT IS A TESTING, maybe even a little bit PAINFUL process, BUT:
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate [disciplined] in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown” (NKJV)
Philippians 3:20–21 “We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.” (NLT)
PLEASE don’t misunderstand: SALVATION, being a FREE Gift, is NOT earned by any deeds but by sincere & truthful repentance and willingness to receiving the Free Gift by accepting the Lordship and sacrifice of Jesus Christ who paid the PRICE for our sins (& for all who are willing to accept WHO HE IS & WHAT HE HAS DONE).
BUT all other heaven rewards are DIFFERENT (& are NOT Salvation), and may be rewarded based on our thoughts, intentions & deeds (with our deepest intentions revealed). Jeremiah 17:9-10.
1 Corinthians 3:10-15 “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.” (NIV)
2 Cor 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (NKJV)
1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 “After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you! Yes, you are our pride and joy” (NLT)
2 Timothy 4:7–8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”(NKJV)
James 1: 12 “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (NKJV)
Rev. 2: 10-11 “Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life.” (NLT)
Rev. 3: 11 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown” (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 9:24–27 “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” (NIV)
Last but not the least:
1 Peter 5: “And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches [who are believers of Christ]. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: 2 Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. 3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. 4 And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.” (NLT)
Please think upon these verses. (Please feel free to discuss!)
In Christ Jesus our Lord.
Abundant blessings and spiritual growth!
