How can I not be so afraid of the rapture?

Another “joker” on a Christian Forum.

J.

Well, you’d be wrong.

I can think the earth is flat, cats are dogs, and that I’m the emperor of Florida, but that doesn’t matter since none of those things are actually true.

If I was talking to someone I knew personally about that, I’d ado and see if they voted in elections or not, but nevermind the niceties. The “emperor of Florida” today would be a civil war Spaniard if he existed politically, and he’d be interesting compared to the “every man a king” Huey Long liberals of the 1930s and 40s in the English speaking world.

You’ve spent the time meditating to see the world as flat? How did you do with the parallel logic of that and its outcomes compared to earth circularity? The provable conjectures one can make on the basis of each premise (provable within the system) can often go to show that flat earth math is less elegant, and more chaotic.

The Bible also talks about a considerable amount of chaos and upheaval in the world, but is that a natural outcome of complex fractal gravity, or is there a conscious and self conscious spiritual as well as human motive force?

You seem to speak one of the many troll dialects, this one often rephrased by spirits of the distilled variety, whether conscious or unconscious.

Maybe you can identify your motive force?

English is my second language. Yours is Greek. I was trying to move fluidly in prose about the real world effects of a church and a state being completely separated parallel lines, so as not to deny that at least in your reality, only the Bible/church/spiritual part counts.

actually, you should read that. There are references to the state or temporal solid atomic, physical, and periodic table of the elements part of creation all through it.

try not to be such a jerk. I can tell that your Greek is a second language as well as you can tell that English is mine, but you are so far behind me in second language that I can tell your first language but you don’t know my first language.

I assume you learned your native language from your father, who didn’t come from Gladstone BC, since it doesn’t exist. I’m not trying to be a jerk - just trying to puzzle out why so little of what you say is true.

I think “Entáxei” is the only Greek word I ever actually used in my 2 1/2 years living in Athens. And I just now had to look it up to bolster my memory. So we know you aren’t psychic. Unfortunately, English is my only language.

It seems like you’re attempting to distract actual ministry from genuine people with genuine needs. Would that be for the sake of your fluid prose, or something else?

Just asking.

Where’d you get the road map of British Colombia?

“Gladstone is a ghost town in the Boundary Country region of southern British Columbia. It is 18 km (11.2 mi) east of Christina Lake.[1]

Initially honouring William Ewart Gladstone, the name changed to Coryell in 1900. Jack Arthur Coryell was a well-known surveyor in the region. However, Coryell was still often called Gladstone.[1] At its peak in 1898, Gladstone had 3 hotels, 3 stores, and a livery stable, among other businesses. Gladstone was built on mining and the railway. Many prospectors came to mine in the Burnt Basin locality.”

Apparently Mr Coryell changed the name to Coryell himself, since he was the only one living there at any time in the 20th century.

To my surprise, new paper road maps of BC can still be purchased, but there is no Gladstone on it. Are you sure you didn’t mean Gladstone, Manitoba? It’s only 2200 miles away. And you know how easy it is to get those provinces mixed up. Especially when fluid prose is the goal.

So the question remains - why are you posting so much false, unintelligible gibberish? Because it’s true that you are distracting from genuine peoples threads.

Again, just asking.

Hi JennyLynne!

Let me add my perspective, by your leave, to the many excellent answers already given.

The rapture is an event whereby those alive in Christ are caught up to Jesus, bypassing physical death. So when the rapture happens, it means no death for those who are believers in the atonement and redemption through Jesus Christ.

But it is a scary thing to face the living God, which comes after. We all know that we have failed to live according to the standard that Jesus set. Therefore, my advice to you and to myself has 2 parts.

  1. Recognize and embrace the purpose for which you are alive on the earth. God had an image in mind of what you (JennyLynne) could be as a person, if you were to believe Him, and abide in Him, and He loved the idea of living in fellowship with you forever. His purpose in placing you alive on this earth is to offer you the opportunity to demonstrate who you choose to be as a person. And every day is a new opportunity to for you to choose to be Christlike. Don’t get caught up dwelling on the past, but pray (as David did) that God would teach you to number your days, and realize they come to an end in the blink of an eye. So work while it is day. You will have the inner peace and joy of the humble, willing servant.
  2. What sort of work? He designed you perfectly for the opportunities that you will encounter. Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s kingdom, learn to be the servant of all. It’s not likely God designed you or myself to lead great armies into battle, or reveal the deepest mysteries of the Bible. He has others to do that. He did design us (all) to be kind, helpful, and joyful in our acts of sacrificial love, however small. We have no idea of the scope of the ripple effect that starts from an act of love.

Finally, be confident in His love. He invites you onto His lap, with the tender love of a Father toward His daughter. He knows you, He loves you - He will see to keeping you safe.

If I were a banana, I’d be Thursday.

What exactly is this game of nonsense word salad?

It’s game over. My bad for being slow on the draw.

I’m more afraid of failing my God by failing to energetically pursue my vocation. One nice thing about a healthy eschatology is the middle distance. I can focus on bringing glory to God across the next few centuries, by doing my best today.
