How Dare You, You Sin Too

This immediately brought to mind the quote by the late pastor Tim Keller:

“You are more sinful than you could ever dare imagine and you are more loved and accepted than you could ever dare hope-at the same time.”

As we come to know Christ more and more and the Spirit becomes more and more real to us and active in our lives, this is the truth we more and more affirm. And out of this place of love, acceptance, and forgiven-ness, we begin to turn away from our sin, even as we realize its depth more fully. Unlike the servant in Jesus’ parable (Matt. 18), we understand the great debt we have been forgiven, and out of that place, we can extend forgiveness and hope to others.

Not exactly live and let live. We all sin even after getting born again, just, less than we used to. King David sinned quite a bit and he is called a man after God’s own heart. But, like you say, if it isn’t a practice of sin, a, lifestyle of continuing in sin then that’s a problem.

Matthew 7:21

**21 **Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven…./KJV

What is the will of the Father in Heaven? He tells us in scripture, Be ye Holy, even as I am Holy. So the man who got saved Sunday and has been reading the Word, learned real fast that his live in girlfriend is not the will of the Father in Heaven. In order to turn from that sin and get rid of the lifestyle he is making an effort to be Holy. I am not perfect, but I am forgiven. That’s why King David is regarded as a man after God’s own heart, because he did not live that lifestyle, but he did stumble when all the blood drained from his head when he saw Bathsheba and it went downhill quick! Then in Psalm 51 we see King David coming to grips with his sin and confessing it to God. He stumbled. Then he got back up and ran to God and begged forgiveness.

Many people feel like running away from God after they have sinned. Too ashamed to pray or read the Word, they know they done wrong. I always do. I have a conscience and always have.

God knows we arent perfect and doesn’t expect us to be. He is looking at the intent of our heart. At how much effort do we put in to trying to be sinless. The Lord knows we will all fail. All have sinned and fall short. I looked up all in Greek and it means All !

So there’s two men. One still has the live in GF and wont tell her to leave because he is greedy and she is attractive. The other guy stood up to his live in and made her move back with her momma, or get married and she didn’t want to do that. So she had to leave and she did. That is the will of the Father. One man is serious about obeying God and the first guy is in rebellion to God because he let her stay. So even though both men were messing up one took steps to be better than that. There is bigger fish in the pan than a pretty woman.

I am not sinless but sometimes I go for days without sinning. It isn’t that hard until certain temptations walk up. They are smart.

I learned how to say no to girls when I was a young man!I was the youngest of 4 kids and got to see and hear all about their adventures with BF/GF stuff so was in that room hearing the blah blah blah and thinking. Note to Self: don’t get a GF like that one!

One time my “Friends” set me up on a blind date, she’s a good looking girl Ed come meet her at our house and we’ll have dinner and play cards? (Red Flag) Ok why not? We’re sitting there playing cards and this girl comes out in this conversational tone like I need a better job so I can get my stuff together…only she didn’t say that. SHe says I wish I could get pregnant so I can get on Benefits and get my stuff together. WHo says something like that?! I lasted about another 5 minutes and hit the door running, lol. One must be able to say no. Our future depends on it,

I have several times, and am again now. I agree with this wholeheartedly.

Well, the whole thing is God’s Word. However, yes, I agree, we should follow a little more closely to the New Testament, when Jesus, our Lord, came and gave us a way to be forgiven and adopted into the family of God. That is why we should be bringing the Gospel to all. Explaining God is real, sin is real, hell is real, and they need to repent and be saved.

Just to clarify, I was not saying this because I believe it. I was saying to illustrate what I have been told, mostly by false Christians who do not wish to give up their sin, or non-Christians who do not want to hear they are sinners. I do agree we all sin, and your example is right on.

Absolutely. The problem I am told many times is that those who leave them all alone. Why is it any of my business that they live together, and how does it affect my life? I’m told to just love on them and let God sort it out. I, we, are sometimes the way God is sorting it out. If the guy who did the right thing never heard that there was a right thing, he would still be the same as the other. That is why we must share the better way, even if it offends some.

Wow, glad you did not take that any further. Love your post. Sadly, most Christians today are that, Christians. They get their best clothes on. Go to the Building they call Church. “God be with you all.” “Also with you.” “Today we will be talking about being a good person.” Stand and watch the music show. Sit. “God be with you all.” “Also with you.” Romans 8:28 says it is all good. God loves you. Just be you. Be a good person. “God be with you all.” “Also with you.” Stand, sit, “God be with you all.” “Also with you.” Shake hands and leave feeling good. You just had church. You ARE a good person. Now let’s have that BBQ and watch the game. Got beer? Monday comes, and back to work you are lying, cheating, and stealing to get ahead. Sunday comes, repeat.

There is a difference between being a Christian and being a Child of God.
