I want to plant seeds and work for God, but I’m not sure if I’m the most equipped to do so. I know God, but I’m not that educated on the different theological debates or topics. I’ve had the desire to share my testimony and spread the gospel through social media or even in person when given the chance, but I’m not sure if I should or if that’s even what God wants me to do. I want to do more for God, but I don’t know how or where to start.

That’s a good question. Pray about it, which I’m sure you are and look out for opportunities. I missed an opportunity yesterday because I wasn’t thinking along those lines at the time. We know that apart from Christ, we can do nothing. He’s told us that so God needs to be in whatever you plan. Sharing the gospel doesn’t need to be a theological debate. That’s actually a turn off to most people. One of the best witnesses I know of is Corrie ten Boom and she kept it very simple.
The way you live, do, and say is also a witness to Christ in your life. Ask yourself if your every day and conversation tells others about Jesus. My attraction to Christianity was from observing someone. They seemed so pure, content and gentle. It was Christ in them that I was seeing.
“Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope”. (1 Peter 3:15). Paul also tells Timothy to “do the work of an evangelist”.
When I first became a Christian I had a habit of talking to people about Jesus whether they liked it or not. But over time I’ve recognized what Peter said here. To be ready to answer anyone who might ask you. And that kind of goes along with what Bestill said in the post above. They may see something in you that is different or something you do which will lead them to ask about Christ. Peter says to “be ready to give an answer”. We don’t always have to be talking. A lot of it is what we are doing differently than other people might do. And “doing the work of an evangelist” can be leaving a tract on a bus seat, or at an ATM, etc. We basically do what we can–I think that is all that the Lord asks of us.
There are two important questions to learn.
What do you believe?
What evidence do you have for that belief?
Know how to answer those questions yourself and be ready to talk to people around you.

God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. So don’t worry about that.
It doesn’t take an education of any sort, it takes a relationship with Him personally through His Spirit. That means, now I pray more, now I fast more, now I read Hos Word more, and I make effort to walk with a heart of compassion towards people.
Number 1 on the list for common folk like us who have no ministry, is obey. That means listening to what my conscience says and always do that. Obedience is everything. I’m not Moses, Paul or even Billy Graham, I have no ministry. My old truck is broke down, my body is broke down after back surgery, I’m not even equipped to go door to door! So what can I do?
Everything within my reach. My body may be a rusty nove ready for a trade in, but I am the oldest that I have ever been and this means I am at the pinnacle of my life in experience and wisdom. So I can do something. What do I do? I Believe. I believe what His Word says and apply it to my life instead of just hmm I learned something new today.
We are the light of the world. AT first we were dark. Then we got born again and the old man died and so I live and obey what His word tells me to do. That means saying no and denying myself at times. That means doing things that cost me in some way. Going against my desires and doing the Lord’s will. Not my will, but the Lord’s will be done.
I pray so much more than I used to. Scripture says be led by the spirit, ok let’s do that. Lord should I do this thing or no? Even little things. In scripture, we see David asking God all the time. Lord should I go fight them? Should I go up? Luckily for me I am not the warrior type so I pray and ask Him, Lord please let me help you in some way, my truck is broke down and my back messed up. Lord will you make it to be something that I can do from my easy chair? (I really prayed that!)
As soon as I Amen to that prayer, my phone rang. An old friend that I haven’t seen for a couple years. Hi Ed how are you? You know the bible and things about God, can I come over and pick your brain about God while we visit and catch up?

The Lord answered my prayer instantly! Actually He Blessed me for asking I think, because I knew my company was coming over and I went up from the family room to make some coffee for us. I was out of coffee. Can’t even serve my company coffee! I felt bad, and since I was broke, I started to pray about that. But before I began praying, I remembered that scripture says, don’t worry about what you will eat or drink or wear for God knows your needs before you ask and will provide them. So, I decided that I didn’t need to pray about it, so I didn’t say that prayer. His Word says, don’t worry about those things…
Knock knock my friend is here. He says Hi Ed, I brought you a gift, and hands me a 2 LB bad of gourmet coffee beans! He did not know that I was out of coffee! That was the Lord! That was the Lord!! That was the LORD! Perfect timing and last minute never late. So I did witness to my friend and the coffee was good!
I don’t know what else to call that except, the Lord had coffee Delivered to my house when I was out! I think it could have been a bit of favor shown to me because I prayed and asked Him to let me help Him in some way? Or else that I stood in faith upon His Word when I did not pray for the coffee? Or maybe even both?
That makes for a great Testimony for me to share also and every bit of it is true. So I thought so if I am the light of the world, when I first born again my light was perhaps dim? And as we push in and do more with God and Him through us, then my light will get brighter. Praise the Lord!
I asked the Lord to pick out videos for me to watch on youtube (teaching videos) Next thing you know I’m watching testimonies of other people, and the Lord starts pinging my spirit like a submarine! I suppose that is what scripture refers to, being quickened in the spirit? He would do that to let me know, this testimony is real…And the man was talking in his testimony about being translated at night (during the night watches).He would find himself somewhere else on earth with a task to do, and some of them were not very nice, but needed to be done. So he would do them. Actually there is several guys on youtube that say they do the same thing at night while they are in bed. One guy his task to do is (he went back in time to Jerusalem) and was supposed to walk the main street from one end to the other declaring that David will be king! The same man a different time went back in time to where there was the black plague and there was a little girl crying on the curb. He asked her what’s wrong and she said I want to see my mommy but they wont let me and she is sick…So he said, show me and they went to the house and he walked in. They yelled at him, plague! plague! Go out of the house, but he sat down by the mom and spoke to her of Jesus and led her to Christ through the prayer and then he was back in bed thinking, what was that that just happened?!! He prayed and said Lord, how can I go back in time and lead her to the Lord, when I hadn’t even been born yet when she lived and died…??? And the Lord told him, because I wrote it in the book like that…!! The Lord quickened my spirit and so it is true what happened. But I am digressing so back to the point, lol.
So I began praying for the Lord to use me in spirit during the night watches.
I would love to be translated! If my body is busted up from the accident, but the Lord can use me while I am sleeping in my bed (!!) Then that is something I aspire to do if it will help the Lord. So I believe it and pray for it. So far nothing has happened like that to me, but I continue to pray about it. Maybe I was praying too much for that? Because I believe the Lord spoke to me through a teaching video and said, not everyone who is granted to work the night watches are allowed to remember it because of their pride and they would speak of it wrongly. And that’s when I felt it, ouch, I talk too much already so that’s me I suppose.
But the Lord might be using me during the night watches and I can’t remember it? So the point is is to just start praying for everything you can set your heart on. I want to help, but I am disabled and old enough to have some wisdom. Scripture says, you have not because you ask not…So ask!
One time I asked the Lord to teach me how to love others the same way that He loves me…
It wasn’t 48 hours before I had accidently made friends with a neighbor and the most obnoxious guy in the neighborhood. At the 2nd meeting he let the obnoxious veil down and introduced himself for real. He’s a black man and I’m white bread, so he starts testing me. I knew it down to my core that the Lord sent him to me because of my prayer, Geesh, be careful what you pray for because you just might get it. Now I’m trying to mature spiritually so I did ok for awhile. ButI already recognized that, some men did way worse to Jesus than be obnoxious, so I tried to lead him to the Lord but he liked challenging me and testing me and I was raised to stand up to that sort of thing and hate them hurt them da da da. But that’s the old man so I bit my tongue in obedience. We watched quite a few teaching videos and talk about God. I was trying to plant seeds, but when they was raised to be obnoxious it makes it hard to love them.
I invited him over for a bbq. I bought steaks for us. Now I was raised that you don’t go into a man’s house and talk down to him. He crossed some lines with his obnoxious mouth, and I had steaks on the grill for us! I suppose I failed that test because I booted him out of my house and I did not feed him a steak!
I didn’t lose my temper and that surprised me considering what he said to me. Nevertheless his words still have consequences so I did not feed my enemy that time and failed? Or was it a lesson in discernment and I should have booted him out? I don’t know yet.
The bad part of it all is, I booted him out and did not consider us friends anymore and had the intent to, not let him in my house any more…And about 2-3 weeks later, he had a stroke in his mothers house 2 doors down, and is paralyzed and blind now, so they put him in a care facility. I can only hope that one of my seeds took root in him and I wasn’t his last chance or something? That would be terrible for me to carry. I haven’t seen him since.
Doing the Lord’s work is very challenging sometimes. I asked for that and I hope I did not let that man down somehow. I can only pray for him now, I can’t even visit him. His mom don’t this white boy so I don’t know where he is.
So do be careful about what you pray for. It took me a long time to pray that the Lord teach me how to love others like He does me (us) again but I have. My maturing must continue.
Another testimony I heard was a guy who got translated to China in an underground Christian church. It got raided by Chinese soldiers and the nailed a bunch of them to a piece of wood with nails, including him. He said and yes of course it did hurt a lot. Then the soldiers left them alone and he had to pull his hands over the head of the nail and through his hands to get free and then the soldiers came back just he stood up and fired at him with AK47’s. He said everything slowed down and he could see the bullets coming at him and a portal closed around him…and he was back in his bed. (Whoa.)I’m not sure if he prayed to do that but I’m guessing no, lol. The OT (and NT) tells stories of things like this happening. Enoch was translated. Phillip was translated after baptizing the Ethiopian and found himself 40 miles away in a different town. So this is a real thing and God never changes so it still happens and people are talking about it.
The enemy loves to use the “theological debate” trap to keep people quiet, making them feel like they need a seminary degree just to tell someone that Jesus loves them. First, the very fact that you have a burning desire to share your testimony is the primary indicator that the Holy Spirit is prompting you.
Scripture shows that God deliberately chooses people who don’t feel “qualified” by the world’s standards so that He gets the glory. In Acts 4:13, the religious elite looked at Peter and John and were astonished because they saw they were “uneducated and untrained men.” But the secret wasn’t their education; the text says this,
“Now, when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”
They realized that they had been with Jesus. In John 9, a man born blind is healed by Jesus. The top theologians of the day corner him and try to drag him into a massive theological debate about whether Jesus is a sinner. The man’s response is the ultimate blueprint for you:
"He answered, “Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know is that though I was blind, now I see.” John 9:25.
You do not need to know how to win a debate about Calvinism, Dispensationalism, or end-times timelines to share the Gospel. You only need to know what Jesus did for you. Your testimony is unarguable. People can debate theology all day, but they cannot debate your story of a changed life.
You asked how and where to start. Maybe try this.
Before hitting social media or talking to a crowd, grab a journal and map out her testimony in three simple parts: Before: What was your life, mindset, or heart like before you truly encountered Christ? (Keep it honest, not overly graphic). How: How did you come to realize you needed Jesus, and how did you place your trust in Him? After: How has your life, peace, or perspective changed since knowing Him?
Having this clear in your mind will give you massive confidence. If you want to use social media, you don’t need to launch a massive ministry page. Just start where you already are. Share a simple, 60-second video on your personal page, or post a short written caption about a verse that helped you through a tough week.
If in person, look for “low-stakes” opportunities. Simply offering to pray for a friend who is stressed, or sharing a quick “God was really good to me this week” during a casual conversation. You do not have to do it all. Sometimes all it takes is planting the seed
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:6
Your job is not to convert people. That is the Holy Spirit’s job. Your only job is to drop the seed. PLEASE also always remember this. If you share your story and someone rejects it, you didn’t fail. You successfully planted a seed, and you can leave the results in God’s hands.

You have a knowing so that is a start. You don’t have to know anything else as the Lord will teach you after .
For me i was excited and just knew at certain times in my life and I don’t say anything to anyone during that time my work with the Lord is between me and him and I’m glad I have chosen to seek the Lord it makes life meaningful in a way I can’t explain and I love people and so does the Lord . 
. Be excited as you have this desire and trust me the Lord will fulfill beyond what is in your thoughts. Be excited on your for your journey take the Ten Commandments seriously and do not gossip, or take part in vices the Lord will convict you during your work as the Lord is not kidding he don’t gossip, slander , serve self, pride etc. obey the lord convicted me on smoking during my service and I had this scary feeling if I smoke I’m going to die . People everywhere started out of the blue say quit smoking so I did quit and don’t you know like 10 years later I became very sick and would have been dead if I would not have stopped. I also believe service with the Lord for some of us is quiet we are not to seek praise. Praise can be like a sin to me , everyone’s following and relationship is different with the Lord but what a good thing to think I did the lords work

Oh! I don’t know how I forgot this before. There is also what is called being an Intercessor. It is intercessory prayer for others who need prayer (everyone). And this is easily done from home, or if disabled or anything like that.
I heard another testimony recently and they said that they were praying for the people in Venezuela after they had that big earth quake where so many buildings fell down, and suddenly they found themselves in a strange place and just knew it that they were in Venezuela, so figured that the Lord had a job to do down there so they went looking for someone to pray for, and found many people needing prayer, then just as suddenly, they were back at home again! Wow that must be cool being translated!
