I don’t want, to go through my Life,
Without the Baptism of the Holy Ghost…
I don’t want, to do God a disservice;
And I don’t want a single Demon in my Soul…
I don’t want, to waste all my Time,
Nor yet Gods or anyone else…
I don’t want to wander around troubled and deceived;
Nor yet miss the opportunity to be Raptured Home…
I don’t want, to wind up in the Tribulation Period,
Because I’ve been a Fool with what I believe…
I don’t want, to be a Coward or Compromiser;
I would rather be Martyred if that was God’s will…
I don’t want, to be rich or poor,
I want God to vindicate me, to me…
Then I don’t want, to just do what I want;
I want God to guide and bless me as He please…
I don’t want, to take all that I know,
And end up through being wrong to not help People…
I don’t want, to service just the worst elements of Society;
Whether they be Gods’ Children, the Devils’ or undeclared…
I don’t want, to miss out on the opportunity,
To mix and Fellowship with God’s Elect…
I don’t want, to miss out on God’s Revelation;
His Word and Gifts and Prophesying…
I don’t want, to get to the other side,
And be looked down upon because I misbehaved…
I don’t want, to get to Judgement Day;
And find my Lord was with me most displeased…
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
You’re right! It needed to be said. I (there I go again) was merely contrasting what I DON’T want, after dealing with a great many People who wanted all manner of things, many contrary to their own good. Also; (with respect) I believe I have God instilled within me after many Decades of Prayer, Worship and Study and am (we hope) operating ith God in unison from His Spirit within “I”!
Thank you. I have Sung this Song many times in many different Congregations. It is a Happy Song and reminds us of this simple, God-founded principle. Than you and God bless you.
