First, welcome @Holy999. Thank you for sharing so openly. It takes a lot of vulnerability to admit when you’re using a habit to cope with deep emotional pain or mental distress.

You hit on an important truth that many people turn to compulsive behaviors not for pleasure, but as a way to numb emotional pain, stress, or trauma. Recognizing that it’s acting as a coping mechanism rather than a true solution is a huge first step.

While it’s great that you’re seeking freedom from habits that make you feel disconnected, try not to carry overwhelming shame or self-condemnation. Healing usually comes from addressing the underlying pain and mental stress and finding healthy, supportive ways to process those feelings, rather than just fighting the symptom alone. Wishing you strength and peace as you work through this. May God be with you.
