If you could witness one event from the Bible, which would you choose?

If you could travel back in time and witness one event recorded in Scripture, which would it be and why?

My favorite chapter in the Bible is John 21. I always feel that the (7) disciples on that boat were some of the most privileged people on earth. I call the chapter “THE PERFECT DAY” because it is an epilogue of sorts. It’s after the crucifixion and resurrection and there is something perfect about it. The number 7 is perfection and there are seven disciples.

Jesus (GOD in the flesh) makes a special appearance to these (7) and tells them where to cast the net to catch fish. They catch (153) fish which is a very unusual number, it being triangular in nature. And NONE of the fish is lost from the net. Again, it speaks of perfection, and may also be referring to the election of the saints as none of them will be lost.

It’s hard to relate why I love this chapter so much—but the thought of sitting with Jesus around a fire and just fellowshipping with Him makes me yearn and cry for a day when this can be so. So, if I could go back to witness an event I’d love to be part of that boat, and see Jesus at rest, restoring Peter in love, and knowing how much God loves each of us.

I can’t bring myself to watch ‘the Passion of the Christ’ but still I would choose the crucifixion. I want to witness first hand what my redemption cost.
