I'm lonely and need a friend

I’m going through a very difficult time in my life right now. I’m trying my best, though. I practice an abundance of self-care skills, activities, and things that otherwise bring me joy. I surrender my emotional pain to God, and I’ve reconnected with my faith. I try to practice acceptance and understand that what I’m going through is a normal reaction to a traumatic loss, a betrayal, and grief. But I’m lonely. I talk to so many people online, but so much of it is small talk. I just don’t want to be asked how I am anymore, or what my favorite food is. I want someone to care for me, to be there for me when I’m having crying spells. I want someone who will comfort me without giving me platitudes or cliches. I want someone I can feel safe with, but who won’t take advantage of me or my vulnerability. I want someone I can message throughout the day. Maybe someone I can talk to on the phone. Just so I don’t feel like I’m so alone with these feelings. I just want another human to be here with me, so to speak.

Heavenly Father,

We lift up TheSunnySapling to You in this moment of deep loneliness and emotional pain. Lord, You see their heart, their grief, and their longing for connection. Comfort them with Your presence and remind them they are never truly alone, for You are with them always.

Father, we ask that You bring someone into their life—a person of kindness, compassion, and understanding. Someone who will provide the support and companionship they seek without judgment or platitudes. Guide them to relationships that reflect Your love and give them the strength to continue navigating their journey with faith and hope.

Bless TheSunnySapling in their efforts to care for themselves and reconnect with You. Let their pain be a path to growth, healing, and deeper faith. Surround them with Your peace and the assurance that You are working all things for their good.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

Hi TheSunnySapling! I’d love to pray for you today, and I’ve also dropped a link to a video of one of my favorite Scriptures to pray. I hope it blesses you, and embrace this truth: you are never alone.
Happy Praying,
Meg
Father,
Please let TheSunnySapling feel Your love today. Bless her heart with the fullness of Your presence, God, so there is no question you are there. Father, I pray that You would bring her comfort. Life is difficult. Sometimes, we forget that everyone is dealing with some type of difficulty. It’s easy to feel isolated as if we are the only ones suffering or feeling alone. Social media makes it very easy to scroll through everyone’s highlight reels …making us feel left out, falling behind, and lonely.
God, even when there are no other people with us, we are never alone because You are there. I thank you for the many times I have felt Jesus sitting beside me as I have cried out in pain and sadness. I pray TheSunnySapling can feel Him sitting with her, too.
Father, You didn’t put us on this earth to do life alone. And though You are with us, we do need actual people, too! Help TheSunnySapling find the people You have purposefully placed in her life. They are there, God! This we know. Nothing You do is accidental. Give her the courage to step out in faith and see who’s there to connect with. Bring people into her life who will build her up and keep her safe. Who will help her learn and grow into the person You created her to be.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Thank you so much. And thanks for the video

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I can feel your pain and loneliness in your words. Please know you’re not alone, even though it may feel that way. Your need for real connection is completely understandable, and I truly hope you find someone who can offer you the support and comfort you deserve. You deserve to be heard and cared for. Take care of yourself, and don’t hesitate to reach out whenever you need to talk. Sending you strength and peace.
