International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is coming. How do you pray?

IDOP is in early November each year. When you pray for believers under pressure, what do you focus on? Courage, provision, safe churches, officials’ hearts changing? Any specific places on your heart this year?

Thank you for this reminder! Although there are many places around the world where Christians face more outright persecution, I have been thinking about many places in Europe that are very antagonistic to the Gospel and are very unchurched.

Our church recently sent a missions group to Germany, for example, and the team shared how the area they were visiting to minister to was one of the most atheistic places in the world and people are generally very closed off to hearing about faith and Jesus there. So even though that might not be the first place that comes to mind, it made me realize there are unique opportunities to share the Gospel and to pray for revival in every country.

ather than one day a year I try to keep informed through the organisation ‘ Open Doors ‘to what is happening in the world and apart from my own prayers I join our churches monthly prayer meeting for the suffering church.:- https://www.opendoorsuk.org/persecution/

May I suggest you the reader speak to your minister about setting up a regular prayer meeting and a regular church slot when a particular country is spoken about and prayed for.
