Is Eggnog the Ultimate Holiday Beverage? A Poll and Discussion on The Best Drinks for the Holidays

Eggnog earns it’s spot as a holiday classic, but is it the ultimate beverage? Do you like it’s rich and creamy texture or doesn’t it pass your lips? Do you like it hot, cold, spiced, or spiked [ahem]?

What’s your take - festive treat or glorified pancake batter? Who drinks eggs anyway? What’s your contender for the ultimate beverage around the Christmas holiday?

Hi,
Have you ever tried Irish Coffee? Uts black coffee and you can cheat and use Balily’s Irish Cream and whipped cream. Or you can do it yourself with your choice of rum and whipped cream again. It will warm you up on a cold night. Blessings

It is good in cold weather. IF you are not lactose intolerant!

With all the new people in the Crosswalk Forums community, I feel like we should return to this all-important holiday question. If not eggnog, what is your favorite Christmas drink?

A classic eggnog that rests on a rich blend of whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, fresh egg yolks, gently whipped egg whites, freshly grated nutmeg, a touch of vanilla, and if desired a generous pour of rum or brandy or bourbon, all folded together into one silky holiday drink.

Yup, off to gym.

I do love eggnog (in small doses), but also love cider/mulled cider. I went to France one year during December and mulled wine is everywhere there. Definitely recommend that as well!

It’s hot apple cider, but I don’t want to vote for mulled wine, because I kinda think alcohol ruins a drink. Also, I don’t like heated hard drinks, saki just isn’t to my taste at all. But definitely hot apple cider, with a whipped cream and some nutmeg, cinnamon.
