Speaking from experience I’ve been baptized two times already. The first time was when I was a baby, the second time was in 2022. The scripture never mentioned anything about how many times we should get baptized. And, I’ve seen and met people that have been baptized more than once. I always wonder if that’s OKAY to do?
I’m in the same boat as you, I’m sure that since baptism is a physical reaffirmation of faith and a physical showing of your inward dedication to change, that if you lost the way at some point doing it again would just be confirming again that promise, kind of like how some people renew their wedding vows.
Of course it’s ok. The first time wasn’t your decision. It was your parents decision. The second time was you making that declaration of faith in Jesus.
Yeah, that makes sense
That’s right. I guess, I never really paid attetion.
I’ve wondered about that too.
For me, it seems less about how many times and more about what it represents. If someone chooses to be baptized again because it reflects where they are in their faith now, it feels more like a personal step than something wrong.
Especially in cases where the first one happened as a baby, it makes sense that someone would want to make that decision for themselves later on.
That makes a lot of sense, actually. My aunty has been baptized 4 times already, and last time I talked with her she was really stressed out, and she told me “she thinking about getting baptized again to renew her faith.”
