Formulated in A.D. 325 and reaffirmed in 381, the Nicene Creed has served as a cornerstone of Christian orthodoxy for centuries. It united early believers against heresies and clearly affirmed the divinity of Christ, the unity of the Trinity, and the essentials of salvation.

But today, many churches rarely recite it. Some Christians have never heard of it. Others feel creeds are too “traditional” or not necessary for a faith built on personal relationship with Christ and Scripture.

Still, for many, the Nicene Creed remains a beautiful, unifying declaration that connects believers across time, denomination, and geography. It reminds us of what is non-negotiable in our faith.

Is the Creed still helpful in a culture of deconstruction, doubt, and division? Or has it lost its place in modern discipleship?
