Is the Saying "An Eye for an Eye Will Make the Whole World Blind" Found in Scripture?

Nope. Only God judges Sin. Because only God sees the full picture. Humans judge outward actions based on outward appearances based on what they think they know, which can be extremely false, limited, and misunderstood. While God alone knows what is really going on.

Judge not or you will be Judged. Just don’t do it. Even if you think you are in the right and believe it with all your heart. If you point a finger at someone else, you will find far more fingers pointed right back toward you. And you will hear uncomfortable truths you do not want to hear.

That is telling, @PeterC . You just showed a picture of a book and said, this is God. A book is a material object that has no life in and of itself. One might ask if this is idolatry. Even if the book talks about Him, quotes Him, and reveals Him to the world…God is not a book. God is God.

The Church once said the universe circled the Earth. It said many things as if they were fact. And eventually, those notions were proven false. Lies.

When you commit idolatry with an idea or a false notion, that idea must remain true in order for your “faith” to be real too. More so if you want to keep power over others who might question your knowledge when you are proven wrong. Otherwise, you may eventually find that you have no “faith” at all. You will lose that “faith”, along with the “faith” placed in you by everyone who witnesses the revelation of Truth. And there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you realize the wicked actions that were done in the name of a false notion rather than for the Living God who does not approve of those wicked actions. Who is a Just God in every way and sorts the weeds from the grain.

And you can of course close your eyes and cover your ears and sing, “LA LA LA,” every time someone tries to show you Truth, but a “faith” in delusions will hardly save you, let alone move mountains.

However, when you put your Faith in the Living God, a God who identifies Himself by simply saying, “I AM WHO I AM.” you cannot contain that God with any sort of idea, thought, or understanding. You might as well try to wrangle a tornado with a lasso.

Just ask the Israeli priests who insisted that Christ would come a very specific way, with an army full of men to set them free from their physical captors. They did not accept He would come How He came, to do What He did or How He did it, so they could not see Him, receive Him, or be saved by Him. You do not tell God Who He is. He tells you.

Because of this, it would be wise not to create sacred cows and hold on so tightly to them. And it would be wiser still to just spend more time talking with God.

Now THIS made me laugh. Because it is absolutely TRUE. Proven TRUE. (Psychology, Science) is based on observation of occurrence, like meteorology. Anyone can look at any accusation and ask, is the accusation true of the accuser. It’s fascinating how often it is TRUE. But don’t take my word for it… “One Day…”

@ALL , how is the start of the mini Ice Age going for you all? You should know, this is just the start. The arctic cold will last for longer and longer periods until the summer growing months are only two months long. How do I know this? It is a recorded pattern that reoccurs over long stretches of time.

I don’t think it is purely coincidental that ICE is in the news in more ways than one. There is something about symbols one should pay attention to. I believe God is in some ways a poet. And history is loaded with moments where symbols and metaphors danced in real events even as they spoke to those who were listening and paying attention. It is subtle and easy to miss by those who narrow their view. And a narrow view will not save you. Just ask the Israeli priests in the times of Christ.

False. The World thought this, as well as the flat earth. The Bible says,

“It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;” Isaiah 40:22

One of the easiest ways to disprove the Bible is also one of the easiest ways to prove the Bible is the Truth. You see. There are 1,239 prophecies in the Old Testament and 578 prophecies in the New Testament for a total of 1,817. This is according to “The Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy” by J. Barton Payne.

If the Bible makes all these predictions, and they are proven false, then the Bible is indeed false. However, if the Bible makes all these predictions, some 26 percent of the total Bible is made up of prophecies, then predictions that have been proven correct prove the Bible true. Here are some examples. General, Babylon Will Rule Over Judah for 70 Years.Jeremiah 25:11-12.

Babylon then began to take many Jews as captives to Babylon and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. This domination of the Jews ended in 539 BC, when Cyrus, a leader of the Persians and Medes, conquered Babylon, bringing an end to the empire. This was predicted in Isaiah 45:1. Jeremiah 49:15-20; Ezekiel 25:12-14 both tell of how the luscious and beautiful land of Edom, today a part of Jordan, would become a desert and wasteland.

Israel itself is a prophecy fulfilled. Israel? As we know it today? The exact location and construction sequence of Jerusalem’s nine suburbs were predicted by Jeremiah about 2600 years ago. Jeremiah 31:38-40, Ezekiel 37:21-22. Isaiah 66:7-8 describes this taking place in one day. This rebirth became history in 1948, in one day, and the construction of the nine suburbs has gone forward precisely in the locations and in the sequence predicted. Jesus and His life? Isaiah 53. To name one.

Scientific? How about Covid 19? Quarantine is needed to keep the majority safe. Leviticus 13:45-46. Let’s stick with health for a sec. Also in Leviticus, Leviticus 17:11, again, Leviticus was written somewhere between 538 and 332 BC. During that time and many years after, it was thought that to heal a sick person would be to bleed them. Actually removing their life force instead of attempting to heal the disease. While we are at it. Was Jesus sweating blood? Luke 22:44

Commonly referred to as Hematidrosis or Hemohidrosis, this condition results in the excretion of blood or blood pigment in the sweat. Under conditions of great emotional stress, tiny capillaries in the sweat glands can rupture, thus mixing blood with perspiration. This condition has been reported in extreme instances of stress. 76 cases of Hematidrosis were studied and classified into categories according to causative factors. The most frequent causes of the phenomenon were found to be “acute fear” and “intense mental contemplation.” So yes, Jesus, facing all He was about to, including the Cross, did indeed sweat blood.

We could go on and on. However, the Word of God, the Bible, is living.

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Jesus said this.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:35

Sorry, but yes. The Bible IS the Word of God, IS the truth, all in it is truth. Your acceptance or belief matters not.

You cannot separate God from the Bible.

(Sigh) What happened to global warming? Oh yeah, it stopped. Then a new Ice age? Oh, wait, just in case, let’s just call it Climate Change. Yeah, yeah, that’s it. How the wisdom of the world is mere foolishness to God. It’s called cycles. It gets warm, it gets cold, it rains a lot, it gets dry. Guess who is in charge of the weather? Jesus. I’m not concerned.

One day, my friend, one day. (Smile)

Peter

“LALALALA”

here is proof:

Galileo was forced to recant — Adam Smith Institute

Galileo astronomy and house arrest:

Why is that? Because your “faith” falls apart if you do?

Are you smiling because you enjoy the idea of someone suffering for disagreeing with you? Is that Christ like and Holy Spirit filled, Beloved?

The devil is in the details, the horns are in the fruit.

Not sure why we are moving into political talking points, as I am not.

But “One Day,” indeed.

@Tillman

J.

Because it is the Truth. Like it or not. Your disagreement does not make it false. Love who you said

“LALALALA”

About the Truth, the Bible, and turning to man for a false answer, because if you DO accept the Bible as the Word of God and Final authority, then YOU have to face your sins. As far as this:

Nope. I want you to go to heaven. If I didn’t, I would not waste time debating you. I would simply live and let die. Now THAT would not be Christ-like.

Wait, did you not ask?

I was answering your question. As far as why I was smiling? Like I am right now? Because I like you. I want to see the best for you. I’m not offended in any way during our conversations. Nothing nefarious.

Peter
