Is there a lesson to be learned from each disciple?

Of the 12 disciples, there seems to be an obvious lesson from the lives of Judas, “Doubting” Thomas, love from John, and trust from Peter. But what other disciples stand out to you with takeaways for your daily life? Do they each embody a lesson for Christians today?

Philip! His story teaches us about the importance of inquiry and having a seeking heart.

When he encountered Nathanael, he didn’t just preach; he invited Nathanael to “come and see” for himself (John 1:46). I see this as a beautiful reminder about the importance of curiosity in our faith journey. It’s okay to have questions and to invite others to explore their faith with us, too.

In my own life, I’ve found that being open to dialogue about faith can lead to profound connections and deeper understandings, both for myself and those around me.

I love this insight! That’s an important lesson to learn and one I’ll be reflecting on as I work toward a bolder faith. Thank you for sharing!
