Is there a time when grace should not be dispensed?

I have a new book coming out in August on Amazon. It’s entitled Grace in the Cracks, A Southern Pastor’s Wife’s Tale of Wild Faith and Reckless Redemption. One reviewer thought grace was conditional and would have to see if it was God’s will. My book deals with some severe circumstances where grace was withheld. What do you think about grace and how we should react to challenging circumstances of the saved and unsaved people in our life?

When I read your promo (above) I realized I may not know what “grace” is, at least not in the way you seem to be using it. When you ask “is there a time when grace should not be dispensed?” are you equating grace with “kindness”, “fairness”, “good-will”, “charity”, or something else? Maybe your book will teach me what grace means through your eyes.
