It is the Eve of Messiah's birth. Hallelujah!

St. Mary’s Magnificat:

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for He has looked with favor on His lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His Name.
He has mercy on those who fear Him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of His arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich He has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of His servant Israel
for He has remembered His promise of mercy,
the promise He made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.

Our God descends to earth, to the sorrow and sin of our broken world. And taken up flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. God’s ancient and holy promises made full, Salvation comes to us. God is with us. He breaks the chains of sin and death, liberating the captive and setting prisoners free.

The Eternal, the Almighty, the King of the Universe comes down, wrapped in swaddling and laid in a manger. Proclaimed by angels, not to the rulers on their thrones, but to shepherds in the night.

Glory to God in the Highest!
Peace and goodwill to all mankind.
The Gospel is proclaimed to you.
Herald this King!
God has come to earth!

A holy and blessed Christmas Eve to all. Rejoice in the Child born this night!
