Every morning, I take a moment to pray for my husband. Whether our relationship is smooth sailing or hitting a rocky patch, praying for him always brings me back to our commitment to love one another. It is in these quiet moments of prayer in the morning that my heart swells in thanksgiving and praising God for my partner. I love him so much and want to ask God to bless his decisions, protect him, fill him with security and confidence, and let him know how loved he is.
Each day, I pray specific blessings for him, using Bible verses to guide my words. I often turn to Psalm 121:7-8: “The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” This verse reminds me that God is always watching over him, wherever he goes.
Another favorite is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” It’s a reminder that even when things are uncertain, God’s guidance is always available.
Here’s a sample morning prayer for my husband that I use and wanted to share with you. What are some words you pray over your husband to start the day?
Dear Lord,
I lift up my husband to You today with a heart full of love and gratitude. Thank You for blessing me with such a wonderful partner, and for the joy and strength he brings into our lives.
Father God, I ask for Your blessings upon him. Grant him Your wisdom and guidance in every decision he makes. Surround him with Your protection and keep him safe from harm. Strengthen him in times of challenge and renew his spirit when he feels weary.
Help him to feel Your presence in every moment, reminding him that he is never alone. Fill his heart with peace and his mind with clarity, so that he may navigate his day with confidence and grace.
Lord, please nurture our relationship and deepen our bond. May our love continue to grow stronger and our home be filled with Your joy and harmony. Teach us to support each other, to encourage each other, and to always reflect Your love in our actions.
Thank You for the gift of my husband. I pray that You guide him, bless him, and walk beside him every step of the way.
In Your name, I pray. Amen.
