Need help making a Bible reading alarm app

Hi everyone, I’m a lifelong Christian who’s always eager to grow in faith and connect with others. Excited to be here!

I’ve been working on a Bible alarm app recently and wanted to get your thoughts on a few things. In a nutshell, it’s an alarm app that plays a Bible verse of your choice as your wake-up tone .

After sharing the idea on Reddit earlier, some people mentioned they’d prefer to be gently woken up before hearing the verse—so I added a short 10-second calm music intro that plays before the verse.

The app should be ready for proper testing in a week or two, but before that, I’d really appreciate any feedback you might have.

Here’s a quick overview of the app (Click to view the image) :

  • [Alarm Page]: Like a standard alarm page, but it also displays a cover for the verse you selected.
  • [Alarm Settings Page]: This is where you choose which verse (wake-up sound) you want to use.
  • [Find Tab]: Here you can browse, preview, and download verses. They’re organized into six categories: Faith / Guidance / Hope / Love / Wisdom / Worship (any suggestions on this btw?)
  • [Wake-up Screen]: This is what you’ll see when the alarm goes off. It’s like a normal alarm, except it includes a mini Spotify-style section with the verse info.

I’d be most happy to share sample wake-up sounds if you’re interested (made with [[Isaiah 40:28-31][[Psalm 25:4-15]

Oh and one more thing. I’ve named the app AMENA for now, but I’m open to suggestions! I’m also struggling a bit with the icon design, so if you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them.

Thanks so much for reading! Feel free to drop any comments or feedback—everything helps.Preformatted text

Is the verse displayed to be read? Can you choose a celebrity voice (Morgan Freeman[1]) to narrate the verse? or does it use AI or the built-in speech machine-voice from Accessibility?

Hi SFsergio,

Thanks for your feedback.

At the moment, the verse plays as audio only, but I can add an option to display the text when the alarm goes off. Would you prefer having it readable as well, or is just hearing the audio enough for you?

There’s no celebrity voice involved—mainly to avoid any copyright issues. The voice was generated using ElevenLabs (a voice generator that uses real human voice samples.)

I’m still in the testing phase, but I have to say.. starting my morning by simply listening to God’s word has made my mornings feel twice as joyful and spiritually uplifting.
