Pls pray for me. My panic attacks are too frequent and disturbing my peace
@Kareng I am praying for you to find the peace and healing you are seeking. I hope this will give you some.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7
You, as a child of God, have access to God Himself.
“Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
Remember
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
As a child of God, it does not matter what is going on in your life. Why?
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:33-39
Peter
You are not alone. I am certain my parents were worried about me being in the Marines while the Vietnam War was going on. It was not a wise choice I made but I was fortunate to not have to go to war. A man from Sudan whose family was chased for 30 days through the desert, eventually got to imigrate to the United States asked: WHY ARE YOU AMERICANS DEPRESSED? EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS HERE!”
I too have problems with anxiety and stress. I have several Bible verses that I use to calm down when the anxiety hits and one of my favorites, I give to you. I have it (and other verses) written on sticky notes and hanging where I see them often. Try it with these verses - they immediately calm me. My verses for you:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
I’ve been in a constant state of panic and anxiety for several months, so I know how you’re feeling. Uncertainty can be the most difficult for us to navigate. Your daughter leaving will be hard, but remind yourself that she’s just a phone call away. Maybe get yourself involved in something new to take up the extra time? I know, easier said than done. I will add you to my prayers, mama. May God grant you comfort and knowledge that your daughter is embarking on an incredible journey and you’ll be there cheering her one day the entire way.
Anxiety is a common problem even among Christians as this thread shows. I’ve had panic attacks in the past and they are not pleasant. Horrible in fact, but I got through it. I think they can be caused for different reasons and for me it was one of two reasons. One reason was from not dealing with something that I needed to deal with. I pushed it down until it was in my subconscious and I saw no relation between the two. The other reason was from a demonic attack. It’s funny that I didn’t recognize it as such at the time, but when I desperately prayed and had other people pray, God took it away. That’s when I knew for sure what the cause was.
I hope this helps. There is a reason for it and finding out why is half way there to peace. In truth, you have no need to worry as you do, but that’s easier said than done, I know. May your trust in the Lord’s goodness and mighty hand give you the peace you need.
