New Years Bible Verse

Beginning to pray on what my verse for 2026 will be. Each year I’ve chosen a verse to reflect on or strive for throughout the year. I normally write it on a sticky note and put it on my mirror or make it my wallpaper.

For 2025, I chose Proverbs 23:18, “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” This year, I have been striving to be hopeful for the future and praying daily for the Holy Spirit to open my eyes and mind to the hope found in Scripture.

Let me know if you do a verse for the New Year, and if you have any ideas for 2026!

What a beautiful tradition. Proverbs 23:18 is a good one!

How about these ideas for New Years Bible verses:

  • Isaiah 26:3 - “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You”
  • Psalm 90:12 - “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”
  • Romans 12:12 - “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
