Is the Peace deal with the US, Iran and Israel the Peace and Safety we read about in God`s word?

This is people saying Peace and Safety, (security- same Greek word) but there is more to come. `While they are saying…`

This peace will make Israel seemingly safe, as Ez. 38 says.

Now does anyone believe that Iran is telling the truth? of course not. They think it is fine to lie. Obviously they have an agreement with Russia and they are pretending to want peace. Actually the Russian word `meer` for peace, means the world. That is their aim.

So, while the West thinks everything is fine and Trump gets the accolades for the only President to bring peace in the Middle East, the Russians are rearming their army in Syria. Yes, they are in the Middle East and no one seems to notice.

Wait a few months for the `peace` to settle and then God will bring down the northern army and others to be judged on the mountains of the Golan Heights. Wow, then the world will really say, `Peace and safety` at last.

Then the `sudden destruction` of the trib, will start.

Yikes. This makes me realize the end is nearer than I thought. Unfortunately, I feel sad for the Russians. They are all young men my age who will die and go to hell. That is not something to be glad about. I’d rather Jesus return in 1000 years to have more people be saved than this year to have less be saved

He has been waiting thousands of years.

“But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

He is patient. He is waiting.

“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.”

He will not wait forever.

This “peace deal” won’t last. Shia Muslim eschatology cannot permit peace to reign anywhere on the planet because they believe it’s their religious duty to bring about Armageddon in order to hasten the appearance of their Mahdi who will bring peace as well as rid the world of pigs and infidels.

Iran is practicing the Quranic practice of Taqqiya (tactical deception) to have time to regroup and rebuild forces as well as to disarm the enemy through feigned friendship until the right moment to stab them in the back through a surprise attack. According to Muslim ethics, lying to an infidel is neither wrong nor a sin because infidels have no human rights.

Interesting to note that when God deals with the Shia aspect of Islam (Ez. 38) then that leaves the Sunni leader to arise and bring in the greater deception.

Hi Josiah,

It is good to her you feel for the young men in Russia. They obviously have been fed lies. However, as the saying goes, there are not many atheists in the trenches. These young men can cry out to God before they die. I`m sure many do.

Many people across the internet are asking about this Peace deal with Iran, `Is this the `Peace and Safety` of 1 Thess. 5: 1 – 3.

`But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

For when they say, “Peace and Safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.` (1 Thess. 5: 1 – 3 )

What does the Lord by His Holy Spirit through Paul tell u s.

`But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do, let us watch and be sober.` (1 Thess. 5: 4 – 6)

And aga in –

`…exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.` (Heb. 10: 25)

So we ask, `What exactly from scripture is the Day of the Lord?

First it is important to note that the word `Day` in Hebrew and Greek mean 2 things

1) a period of time

2) a speci fic time.

Most people think of the Day of the Lord as the specific day when the Lord comes in great power and glory with His angelic army to bring vengeance upon the rebellious and delivers those in Israel. And that is true from God`s word. (Zech. 14: 3 Rev. 6 : 12 – 1 7)

But many people do not realise that the Day of the Lord is also a period of time. (Zeph. 1: 14 – 16 Joel 2: 1 – 11)

God`s word says that we shall SEE the Day approaching. (Heb. 10: 25) So what exactly will we SEE? There has been lots of speculation for years concerning this. But God does not leave us to speculation. God is very specific.

`Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the Day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness ,

like the morning clouds spread over the mountains, a people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generation. ` (Joel 2: 1 & 2)

That is a massive army, the like of which has never been or will be again, God says. So, where do they come from and where do they go?

`I will remove far from you the northern army, and drive him away into a barren and desolate land, with his face towards the Eastern sea and his back toward the Western sea; his stench will come up, and his foul odour will rise, because he has done monstrous things.` (Joel 2L 20)

The Prophet Ezekiel also speaks of this great northern army.

`you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many people with you…You will come up against my people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, (northern army) before their eyes.` (Ez. 38: 15 & 16)

This great army, monstrous army will not be hard to see coming down from the north to Israel. When it reaches Israel then that is the start of the Day of the Lord (period of time). (Joel 2: 1 & 2)

And as Jesus, the Head of the Body, tells us, we are not in that Day. (1 Thess. 5: 5) That is our lift off time t o gl ory.

So, this peace deal going on at the moment in the Middle East is NOT the start of the Day of the Lord (period of time). There is no great army coming down from the far north…yet.

After God deals with that great northern army, then the world will say `Peace and Safety,` as the Peace treaty with Israel is signed.

`Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week…` (Dan . 9; 27)

One thing I appreciate about Josiah’s comment is the reminder that prophecy should never make us rejoice over the destruction or condemnation of people. Whether events today are connected to specific passages or not, every headline involves real human beings made in God’s image.

Christians have interpreted current events through prophecy for many generations, so I think it is wise to hold our conclusions with humility. What seems clear to me is that Scripture repeatedly calls believers to be watchful, faithful, and ready, not fearful or eager for judgment.

And I take comfort in Peter’s reminder from 2 Peter 3:9 that God’s patience reflects His desire that people come to repentance. That patience is something to be thankful for.
