Perspectives on Spiritual Warfare

It is one thing to quote Scripture about Spiritual Warfare but it is quite another to actually experience it. So I am going to share my experience and my perspective and offer you a chance to share yours if you have any. With that said, i am not here to prove or defend my perspective though I grant that I could be wrong.

I have met some interesting people over the years with interesting ideas..Every interaction and experience can and has given me an insight that I could take with me. And much of what I am about to write is based on some mix of study, experience, and insight.

One: Not against flesh and blood

Whatever we see in the physical world is a byproduct of something in the spiritual world. The Word becomes flesh. The seed that sprouts into a bushel is not a physical seed but spirit in nature. When it sprouts, it ultimately leads to something corporeal, solid.

The ground level, the soil from which the seed rises to become something that bares fruit, is the spiritual realm. And the fruit of this seed is the nature or essence it brings into the physical world, a quality that can describe and define the specific spirit at work. And that essence influences the physical world, cause and effect.

Two: The seed

Seeds are ideas, images, beliefs. It is nourished, fed, watered by Thoughts, Feelings and Energy.

What you concentrate on plants a seed in the spirit. The more you invest in it, the more you water it, feed it, nurture it to grow and increase the odds that it likely will eventually sprout into something. And the more people in a given space that focuses upon that seed, the more they collectively water and feed it and increase the odds of something happening. Where two or more are gathered.

Religion, cults, spirituality, and witchcraft all center around this understanding, whether the people involved know it or not. You don’t need to be aware of it in order to play a part.

This is similar to worship. The dangers of an idol or graven image, or the representation of an idea being worshipped is not in that it is a sin alone but in that it can create an influencer that effects the material world. And energy is being poured out on to the idol, an image, through song and prayer and dance.

A modern day example of this is the Slender Man phenominom. A website created a fictional boogey man that kills children. The site was opened up to allow fans to create their own stories, songs, poems etc. Movies and video games have been made.

And two children, affected by the website, obsessed with the Slender Man, attempted to murder their young friend as a sacrifice by luring her into the woods and stabbing her multiple times. She survived.

Seed is sown, sprouts, and effects the physical world.

Three: the fruit

The fruit is what effects the world. It effects mood, thought, feeling, action, and matter itself. Physical matter can fall apart, break, become ill or wounded. Or the exact opposite depending upon the nature of a spirit. Think Superman- Truth, Justice, Inspires toward good. Kal -El, El refers to the Jewish name for God.

The fruit can unite minds and hearts toward a singular goal without their knowledge, like a hive mind where people become the extension of something else.

A town that crumbles apart after the main employment closes down, that becomes a den for drugs, gambling, and crime, is infected with a spirit that has taken a hold. If you visited, stayed long enough, you might begin to be effected. Your energy drained, your mood/thoughts darkened. If not, if you somehow remained uninfluenced or held your ground, you may find yourself targeted. Anyone that cannot be assimilated by the spirit may be considered a threat. Especially if you tried to evangelize.

This is why it is not enough to just preach the Word of God, to tell a sinner they are sinning, to threaten them with hell and damnation. You cannot reach them when they are caught up in the influence of something like this. No one is awake, conscious, thinking or reasoning. They aren’t in control anymore. They know not what they do.

You cannot deal with a spirit by targeting the vessel. The focus must be on the spirit itself first. The spirit that has taken a hold of the human mind is expressing itself through that mind and body. But after the spirit is gone, then the soil is ripe for the Word of God. Salvation and Freedom. The soil being that person’s heart and mind.

Spiritual warfare is about being intentional with your focus. The idea that you hold closest to you, feeding and watering, is actively planting and yielding fruit, whatever it may be,.for good or evil. This is how we tend to God’s Garden. Like God, we can create or destroy.

But God, Who originates life and is always Conscious, Awake, is not made by us. Christ aays, Stay Awake. Stay Conscious, as God is Conscious, the seat of being intentional and above influence. And God says hold no graven image. He is above them, unchanging, Eternal. If you focus on an image, you risk creating something that is not God but presents itself to be.

God cannot be effected by our focus. But we can be. We do not create God. God is beyond our influence but we can close off God from us, stop the Spirit from pouring through us as vessels. By our focus. When we focus on that which is not God. And I means qualities, essence, fruit. The Fruit of the Spirit specifically. It matters whether we allow God’s Spirit and Its fruit to have an effect upon our lives. If That Spirit is absent, any other spirit can have an effrct and maybe even take hold of us. Unknowingly to us. This is what it means to be asleep, to live unconsciously to all that is in the world and can effect us. Being drunk on any spirit that is not God.

You can just imagine how the whole thing could create a cycle that never ends of cause and effect. The mind infected goes on to create more of the same. While the mind filled with God sows the Kingdom.

What you wrote is not connected with what Scripture teaches about spiritual warfare at all. Almost everything you mentioned was not from God’s Word but from the imagination, philosophy, and ideas of men. Spiritual warfare is real but Scripture does not teach that thoughts, emotions, and “energy” create spirits or provide power to them. That entire system is never taught or found in Scripture.

God’s Word says our battle is spiritual but the weapons He provides are the truth of His Word, not mystical ideas. “Put on the whole armor of God” ~Ephesians 6:11. The armor He provides is the Word, faith, righteousness, salvation, and prayer. None of what you wrote has any connection to that.

Scripture also never teaches that people create spiritual forces by their ideas or that spirits grow by people “watering” them with their thoughts. Only God creates. “He spoke, and it was done” ~Psalm 33:9. Humans do not create spiritual beings or spiritual realities.

The gospel itself is the power of God to save ~Romans 1:16. We do not have to “remove a spirit” before we preach the truth. The Word of God pierces the heart directly ~Hebrews 4:12.

Your entire explanation is in place of Scripture and full of speculation. It does not match what God has revealed in His Word. Believers are to reject anything that goes beyond what is written ~1 Corinthians 4:6.

I understand that you are upset because I did not quote the Bible at every turn. But I referred to Scripture through out what I wrote. And I did clarify that this was what I believed, that this is my perspective. Anyway, you are welcome to have your opinion too. Whether it is Biblically accurate or not.

Perhaps try to represent your perspective without tearing others apart. It would be more Christ like.

Blessings.

I hear what you’re saying about being Christlike. But being Christlike doesn’t mean avoiding correction. It means correcting the way Jesus corrected. He spoke the truth plainly, even when people didn’t like it. He said, “Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth” ~John 17:17. Truth is never an attack when it comes from Scripture. It is God’s way of setting people free.

Christ never tore people down, but He never let false ideas stand either. When Peter spoke something that did not line up with God’s will, Jesus confronted it immediately ~Matthew 16:23. When the enemy tempted Him, He didn’t soften His words. He said, “It is written” ~Matthew 4:4. Love doesn’t hide the truth. Love brings everything back to what God has said.

So no, I’m not tearing anyone apart. I’m tearing down ideas that don’t match the Word, because that is what Scripture commands: “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God” ~2 Corinthians 10:5. Notice it is the arguments and ideas that get torn down, not the person.

If what you shared had matched Scripture, I would have affirmed it. But when something goes beyond what is written, God calls us to correct it ~1 Corinthians 4:6. That isn’t unloving. That’s obedience.

Being Christlike means speaking the truth with compassion, but also with clarity. I’m not against you. I’m for the Word. And the most Christlike thing any of us can do is keep bringing one another back to Scripture.

Perhaps, maybe, Let us not rest in our own understanding but let God’s understanding speak to you.

Meaning, you can speak all the Scripture in the world and still be wrong if your heart is not right. Like the Pharisee who certainly could quote all the Word and yet never knew God.

Instead of “correcting” my life study and experience, and perspective, which I never said lined up with a church script of belief, try sharing your own life experience if you have any to share.

I gave you an invitation to Witness about your own personal life experience. You took it as a challenge and an act of war. Consider your own hostility and determination to be argumentative about something you have never seen before and know nothing about. I know I do.

I see how you respond and I weigh it. And it tells me a great deal about who you are. The fruit reveal the spirit.

Tell your own story instead of trying to rewrite mine because it does not line up with what you believe.

Again, I urge you all, tell your own stories. Share your own experiences.

Lack of personal narratuve is indicative of a cult mindset. If you cannot think for yourself, and reason for yourself, and if you cannot accept when others do so for themselves, then you are indoctrinated into a group mind from which you cannot deviate one inch. That is not Christlike. That is a mental stronghold, a prison, a false church. You have been decieved. Break free.

When I was younger, God led me to study cult brhavior before I ever joined a church. I urge you to study what a cult is, how they work, how they get in your head and keep control. This knowledge has kept me safe for many years. As has God’s redirection in my life.

I am only going to do this once. With this, right here. You said:

The following Scriptures speak of sowing. Now in your mind, you may think these mean to just speak words. And what I am telling you is, the sowing is in the spirit and the reaping is in the physical.

And when Christ talks aboit types of ground where the seed lands, that ground refers to the spiritual condition of that person. The spirit present, blocking the seed. The spirit being unforgiveness, selfishness, etc, that which blocks a heart.

The ground needs to be worked in order to plant the seed and to sprout a bushel. And this correlates with sowing in those people infected with a spirit. Removing the spirit first is working on the condition of ground, softening, removing the weeds, and making the soil good and ready for God’s Word.

And God’s Word is more than just a quote from the Bible. To plant the Word of God is to sow of the Holy Spirit, the qualities of the Holy Spirit. Which when able to sprout, take root, and grow producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which is LOVE, kindness, peace, humility, virtue, righteousness and so on.

And as for focussing on ideas, in the following Scripture Paul references a Peace that Protects and Surpasses all understanding and speaks of focussing on specific qualities- whatever is Admirable, True, Noble, Right, Excellent, Praiseworthy. And practicing what they have seen and learned in Paul.

And then Paul circles back around and says, Then that Peace will be wirh you. This is is an example of sowing in the Spirit and reaping a Physical result. The qualities, by keeping them in mind, produces a result which protects and deals with a spirit of Anxiety.

But if you only rely on your own undersranding without studying, and practicing, then you would never see the deeper meaning. It would just appear as a casual suggestion, Thiink about these and your heart will have rest. No, there is more going on here in this Scripture. In all Scripture. But ignorance will keep you in the dark. If you can only see in the flesh, you will only understand in the flesh.

I may have used unfamilliar words, like watering, but what I am talking about is referred to in Scripture.

Paul wrote in Philippians 4:
