Hello all, in my church group god has guided parents to help their child potty train. Prayers were answered when they tried and god guided the child to learn. I have prayed for my 3 year old daughter to ask god to help her succeed , but when we do she has lots of accidents. I don’t know whether this is a reminder from god that I need to be more patient with my daughter or if I should continue to pray and hope god helps.
praying for you <3
not sure if you want ideas but ill throw some out just in case. for my daughter, we first really tried to “train” her but quickly found that if she doesnt want to go in the toilet, she simply wont. its something we couldnt force. so i stopped trying to make it happen. it wasnt long, after wed quit trying, that she showed her own interest in doing it! i think she wanted to be in control. so your patience MIGHT be the answer indeed!! kids know very well how to copy us. so once we stopped trying to make a point of it, she started doing it herself- not all the time, but most of the time. we’re in a stage now- she is a bit past 2 years old- where she will never poop except on the potty, thankfully, but PEE is hit or miss. she often wants to just go on the floor- again, the control thing. we took the area rug out of the living room so it could stop getting ruined, so now its not a huge deal when she does it. she also tends to pee there when she simply wants our attention. so, positive attention, and letting your child take the lead ,is my advice. i stay home with her so i wonder if that has to do with why shes caught on so quickly. but its still a work in progress. it seems to me that kids take longer when they arent full-time with a parent. but i dont really know, i dont have a lot of experience to glean from. but just my 2 cents. praying for you and hope it goes better soon. the most i encourage is, especially first thing in the morning, ill ask if she needs to pee, and i never push her to do it.
also, as for poop, its weird, but she seems to like this- when shes pooping, im right there in front of her, going “YAY youre pooping perfectly!! perfect poop!! … is there any MORE poop? .. YAY! is there any MORE poop?…” kinda like a game until shes done, and then i praise her for doing such a perfect job and having perfect poops. she likes the attention. and then i always praise her for peeing well too, but i just dont make as big a production out of since im more concerned about poop going well than pee. hope this helps.
