It’s truly transformative and rewires our minds. It provides peace and comfort, aligns our thoughts with God’s truths, prepares us for spiritual warfare and brings us closer to God. It allows the Holy Spirit to use us for His will.
As Romans 12:2 says: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
When Satan tried to tempt Jesus in the desert, Jesus recited Scripture to counter Him.
Having Scripture in our hearts is truly so powerful! I didn’t read the Bible until I was in middle school, but from that point on I have memorized so many Bible verses. The ones I memorized as a child or teen have especially stayed with me. I’m so glad I was given the gift of reading the Bible as a young person!
@pearlie I’m pretty sure I shared this here, but my favorite verse, which has helped me through many a situation, including a head-on car crash that was so bad that I became disabled, bum leg, and had to work hard to get out of the chair and off the crutches, so on.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28”
Just because we cannot see it at the time, this is always true. I can see now, some years later, that this was a good thing, as it directed my walk with God in a far better direction, and even led me here. If it had never happened? I would still be living in Florida and working a secular job.
