I am praying for deliverance from people pleasing, from turning back to my wounds God saved me from. I am asking for strength and discipline to overcome the desire to please people. To stay fixed on Jesus and my purpose in this world. I am praying that God continues to see me worthy of His whispers and that I continue to recognize His voice. I am praying for wisdom over TIME, finances, my job and my relationship. I am praying for my parents and aunts and uncles in this phase of life that I can be with them as they age and that it can be graceful. But that I can continue to help them. I pray that our family be blessed with forgiveness. And that those that don’t know Christ or have strayed find their way home. That hearts are softened and drawn nearer to Him but to each other. That all things not meant for His will be removed from me. That I go where God would have me to go and do what Jesus would have me to do. Amen.
I’m praying with you for freedom from people-pleasing and for the strength to walk boldly in God’s purpose. May the Lord guide your steps, guard your time, and grant you wisdom in every area, work, family, and finances. May your heart stay tender to His voice and your path clear of anything not from Him. He is faithful and will lead you with grace. Amen.
Things like people pleasing, or unforgiveness, or any kind of struggle in our life is known as a stronghold and we all have them. I was taught a way of overcoming strongholds in your life and I’ll share it with you.
First, look up Scriptures that deal with the problem. For people pleasing, a good one might be:
“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10, but there are are more.
Not sure what I did there. Sorry. So, find around 4 Scriptures that speak into your situation, and put them together using your own words. When you are alone and for the next 40 days, say what you wrote out loud. It may seem like you’re just saying words and its having no effect, but stick with it. At some point there will be a breakthrough as these words make their way to your heart.
I forgot to add that you only deal with one stronghold at a time.

Jesus, please heal Cawgreg, and help him stop trying to please people and to follow only your will. Help his family and that he can be with them and help care for them. Please bless and forgive his family of all their sins, Lord. Jesus, please lead Cawgreg where you want him and help him to be happy in Your will, Lord Jesus. Amen.
