I pray that our words today would be “seasoned with salt” and full of grace and truth as we go through the day and interact with those you put in our path. Allow us to pause and invite your Holy Spirit into our conversations and interactions, that we may be a light and a blessing to a world filled with darkness and despair. Let us radiate your joy that no one can take away.
Never forget to pause for a second and listen. To check in. In my experience, the connection can be instantaneous like an athlete being in the zone. It is like pure genious, poetry, understanding, awareness, empathy are all just there and pouring out- and that connection between me, God, and those other people is sweet and beautiful. And those people are always ready to hear it, nothing is forced. I don’t keep pushing and pushing.
Though there are times when people are walled off but the information is something they need to hear in order for their own healing to begin, or to till the land of their heart so better seed can be planted to bloom. And that must be done much more carefully. One wrong word and the progress stops or is altogether lost.
But sometimes I am just not there in the zone, and I need to ask myself, who am I serving? What purpose am I serving. Is this about my sin, my ego, my judgements about that person or their fallen nature. And does my activity actually serve God? If I have to question, that is generally my answer.
But there are also occasions when I need to gird my loins and put on the armour. Because there is something else there working the land with me. And it does not like me being there. It can be a battle to reach those whose hearts are closed off, or blinded by hate and darkness. Sometimea bread crumbs and nudging is required and a far better tactic than a straight up face off with a spirit that is more than happy to take that person and soul with them over the edge. You have to lure the person out of the darkness and into the light with something that tastes a whole lot better.
But God never forces. If the answer is no, the answer must be respected. Boundaries, free will are important. And LOVE does not seek to rob us of agency. God is a Gentleman.
