Pride Month or Men's Mental Awareness Month

Welcome to “Men’s Mental Awareness Month.” Sadly, what the World has seen as “Pride Month.” Pride: Pride, or an inflated sense of self-importance, can blind us to our faults and lead us away from God. Proverbs 16:18 says

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”

However, the world says we should celebrate Pride. You really cannot escape it. Our kids see it everywhere, from school to stores, trying to cash in. While walking in a Mall or down a street in some towns nationwide. What am I talking about? Encouragement to celebrate sin.

Now understand. Yes, the flags and the signs, the stolen meaning of the rainbow on everything LGBTQ+, and the phrase “Celebrate Pride” are about this particular sin. However, it is not just the LGBTQ+ communities encouraging you to celebrate Pride. We see it in many forms all day and every day.

What is Pride? Pride is a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or qualities or possessions that are widely admired. It is also the love of self. What do you think led to this?

“How you are fallen from heaven,
O Day Star, son of Dawn!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low!
You said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God
I will set my throne on high;
I will sit on the mount of the assembly
in the far reaches of the north;
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Highest” Isaiah 14:12-14

What do you think led to the fall of Mankind?

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.>He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. God knows that when you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.” Genesis 3:1-6

What do you think the devil tried to tempt Jesus with?

“Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you if you will fall and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” Matthew 4:8-10

Pride. Pride caused the fall of Lucifer, now known as the devil or Satan. Pride is what caused the fall of mankind. Pride is what the devil tried to tempt Jesus with.

We live in a time when Romans 1 is played out right before everyone’s face.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, and malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” Romans 1:18-32

Look around.

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4

It is not just the Gay, Lesbian, Trans, and whatever other nonsense you want to call out; it is also daily teachings to our children and us, to be prideful. Be the next internet superstar with millions of “followers.” Take pride in yourself.”

Be careful this month, child of God. Pride and sin will be everywhere, in plain sight. If anything, share the Gospel. But never celebrate Pride.

I think the pride of the LGB plus community is more in the nature of rebellion than actual pride. Pride is just what they call it. Not that long ago, anyone in this community were shunned from society and what they did and practiced was ‘in the closet’. I remember when I worked across the street from the only psychiatric facility in Canada that worked with trans people. The rules were much different then and compared to today, very few men (it was always men) were patients.
It’s as if having lived with shame for so long, they now flaunt it and by saying they’re proud is the banner that gives them the courage to do so. It’s a complete reversal from what it was. Deep within these people there isn’t pride in what they do. Pride is their front.

I think you are half right. The Stonewall Riots of 1969, which are the direct catalyst for June being chosen as Pride Month, were a literal rebellion against systemic police harassment and state-sanctioned discrimination. In a society where simply existing as an LGBTQBS person was illegal or classified as a mental illness, which I truly believe it is, public visibility was, by definition, an act of defiance.

You are correct. For decades, the societal expectation was that LGBTQBS+ individuals should feel deep shame and keep their identities hidden. In this context, declaring “Pride” is an act of psychological refusal. It means refusing to accept the shame imposed by the outside world. To an outside observer, that refusal can look entirely like rebellion, but to the person experiencing it, it is a necessary step toward a false self-worth.

None of this changes the fact that this is a sin and against both God and nature, and should NEVER be celebrated. America needs to be careful not to be like other nations that have clearly fallen because of Sin. We have opened the floodgates of acceptability to attack, mock, and make fun of anything Christian and even the religion itself. Any other religion in this country that does not have Christ in it? Well, they are still very much protected. Speak out on one of those, and you can be charged with Hate Crimes. But Jesus? Mock. Attack. Belittle those who believe? Denounce. Have at it.

After all, in this Country that was founded on the Bible, Presidents are sworn in on the Bible, “In God we trust” is on our money, our legal system is based on the Ten Commandments, we have built a “Wall.” All other religions are protected, but Christ and or Christianity is open season? Well? The Devil need not worry about what is already his. Think about that…

Today? We do not even know who God is. We have removed Him from our schools. We have forbidden Him in government, and we have forbidden Him in public life. We attack those who have faith in God and the Gospels as a simpleton, racists, bigots, chauvinists, “homophobes.” Who are just too stupid to understand what is best for them and the Country.

We live in a Country where we call Sin good, and good Sin. We live in a country where we teach our young that from nothing came one single cell, something, and from that came all life as we know it today. Setting aside that the theory of evolution is both scientifically and mathematically impossible, there is no God. This sounds familiar. Does it not?

"Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done." Ezekiel 16:49-51

We are living in a Romans 1 Society. Make no mistake about it, this IS America today. We have “professed ourselves to be wise, and we have become fools.” We have not only failed “to retain God in our knowledge,” we have all but forbid God from being in our country. We have “changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.” We have “changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Not only has America accepted sin, but we have justified it, and set up a process to attack anyone who chooses to speak out against it.

This is why we, as children of God, must stand firm in the Truth according to God and refuse to accept sin, no matter how it is presented or praised.

Just came across this this morning. How timely.

If we look at man’s history, all civilizations disappear from the world stage. Israel is the only exception and they were missing for over 2,000 years. God predicted their return and in one day, the nation was reborn. Countries rise and fall. America is quite young and her Christian beginnings have faded fast. England once dominated the world. Assyria, Babylon were once world empires. Power and dominance comes and then goes and that has been since the beginning.
The only empire that hasn’t gone completely is Rome. She no longer dominates the world in authority and power, but her influence still exits. Rome was never conquered by another nation, but died in the cesspool of her morals. The things that went on in the Roman empire are things that America is now adopting. That seems to be the way of life on earth.
And through it all, God has secured His remnant. He has a people and a testimony to Himself that the world hates. The farther a nation declines, the more it hates the people of God. That has been the way of things since the beginning.
I don’t expect a revival to happen in America although it’s possible. Nineveh experienced a revival that was short lived and later the city was destroyed. If America is revived I believe it will also be short lived.
I don’t advocate doing nothing, but I don’t advocate success. Some believe it’s the churches responsibility to get this planet ready for Christ’s return. I don’t agree that’s even possible. The longer we’re here the more distinct we’ll become and the more hated by the world. We keep the faith. Not just an airy fairy feeling, but an intimate walk with the Savior. That’s our main responsibility and Jesus is present to make it so. Jude 24

I totally agree. This is why we read things like this in the Word.

" And Jesus said to him, 'Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:60

And

" And Jesus said to him, 'Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.” Matthew 8:22

When praying, Jesus said this.

" I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled." John 17:9-12

Jesus told us what is coming. It is going to get a whole lot worse as we draw closer to the Day of Our Lord. Not just America, but the world’s fate is sealed.

Being a slave to lust can turn into mental illness in my opinion. Ive struggled with both, therefore my heart goes out to others who struggle. I believe mental illness actually helped me overcome my bondage to sin. I experienced things that scared me. But I cant know for sure. I only know I finally escaped lust. Praise the Lord.

There is a belief that has a deeply rooted history and persists in various cultural and religious traditions today. Long before modern medicine, psychology, or neuroscience existed, human beings looked for frameworks to explain behaviors, personality shifts, or distressing experiences that they couldn’t otherwise understand.

Before the discovery of neurotransmitters, brain chemistry, and genetics, the prevailing worldview in many ancient societies was entirely supernatural. If someone experienced a sudden behavior change, heard voices, or suffered from seizures, attributing it to an external spiritual force was the primary way to make sense of the situation.

From an outside perspective, certain acute psychiatric and neurological conditions can feature symptoms that traditional or religious frameworks historically classified as signs of possession. For example: Psychosis and Schizophrenia: Can involve auditory or visual hallucinations, severe paranoia, and changes in speech patterns.

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID): Can manifest as distinct, sudden shifts in personality, voice, and mannerisms. Neurological Disorders: Conditions like epilepsy (particularly psychomotor seizures) or severe Tourette’s syndrome can cause involuntary movements, vocalizations, or loss of consciousness that were heavily misunderstood in the past.

In many modern communities, religious texts and traditional teachings heavily influence how illness is perceived. For some, viewing an affliction through a spiritual lens provides a familiar pathway for seeking help, such as prayer, community support, or ritual, especially in areas where medical literacy is low or mental health care is heavily stigmatized. It is a fascinating intersection where ancient cultural interpretations meet modern medical science, often highlighting how much our understanding of the human mind has evolved over centuries.

Then again, have you seen some of these people lately? I’ve challenged this in the past. Go online and find a live stream. Join and say something to the effect, “Jesus loves you.” Watch everything change. Body language, personality, and some will block you. Some will attack. Some are dressing and acting like animals, barking at people, making claims of multiple genders, and so on. A desire to literally murder anyone with whom they disagree? Perhaps a demon IS present from time to time.

Being a Christian and having mental illness is difficult because of the stigma and because you question yourself.

Absolutely. There is no doubt.
