How can Christians stand firm and hopeful in the pro-life movement?
After Election Day results showed both breakthrough victories and significant setbacks in states across the country, how can we as Christians continue to stand firm and stay hopeful in the pro-life movement?
On Election Day, the pro-life movement saw major victories in Florida, Nebraska, and South Dakota, marking the first statewide wins since Roe v. Wade was overturned. However, losses in seven other states have prompted leaders to call for renewed determination to protect the unborn. These mixed results reveal challenges ahead for the pro-life cause and test the commitment of its supporters.
Nice try at putting lipstick on a pig, but the fact is (as the article admits) that pro-choice measures were successful in seven states in an election where the wildly pro-choice candidate herself was unsuccessful. The reality is, most people simply do not see abortion as a significant moral issue untli the fetus is pretty far along toward being baby-like. This is why the original evangelical rersponse to Roe v. Wade was generally favorable. As Donald Trump himself suggested, any candidate who wants to stake out an inflexible “Abortion is murder from day one” position is simply going to lose because abortion is a major issue to many people and most of them do not think abortion is murder from day one.
