Hi everyone, I have today two questions today I mean I have then long ago but now it’s so important to ask you guys )
First is what God said about churches? If I feel pastors not so out or don’t tell people what he want them to do , and feel like it’s more about money , should people still go in that kind of churches? Billy Graham said you should go to church but he didnt mean if pastors not so good in that I am sure .
And our pastor especially for me wasn’t so caring when I was in difficult situation he said oh I am sorry let me think what I can do …. And then he just gone didn’t get to me and so … I know we should be all pure and serve others and help who in need and that what we do even if we don’t ahead much . But I was really interested what about pastors if they show that kind of example ? I believe they should be more pure and show empathy to others and teach good way instead wrong way will be glad to hear more thoughts from you
And one more if you as pastor desire help pure by build schools for poor or anything for people in need , should you do it for free and really help or you should put price that menu people still can’t afford in poor area ? I really feel very upset with that when I see pastor who said “we will build school which will affordable? Should he do it really free and help as pure Heart or he do right to put big price still ?
Thank you for sharing your heart and these important questions, Olga! They reflect your care for staying true to God’s will. Here are some thoughts that might encourage you.
When attending a church where leadership feels off, it’s crucial to pray for discernment. While no leader is perfect, the Bible calls pastors to shepherd with care and humility (1 Peter 5:2-3). If the focus seems more on money or there’s a lack of empathy, seek God’s guidance about whether to stay or find a church that better supports your spiritual growth. A church should inspire and help you deepen your walk with Jesus. If it’s not, prayerfully exploring other options is okay.
Regarding charging for projects to help the poor, it’s a complex issue. Scripture encourages us to give freely (Matthew 10:8), especially to those in need. Yet, projects like building schools often require covering real costs. What matters most is the heart behind the work. If it’s truly focused on serving others and glorifying God, He will guide leaders to reflect His love and justice.
Keep seeking Him in all things. God promises wisdom when we ask (James 1:5) and will direct your steps as you navigate these concerns.
