Robert Kennedy Jr will have free rein in health matters, the CDC, and vaccination programs.
What does this mean for national health?

I think ‘free rein’ may be a bit too strong of language. I think the new administration is interested in his ideas and research and will give him areas to work in, but I don’t think they will give him free rein based on what I’ve heard in interviews concerning his potential role. Also, I don’t think one person has the authority to just change everything within the CDC. But I have personally seen more interviews from doctors that RFK Jr. quotes than I have seen interviews with RFK Jr. himself. So I’m not as familiar with his direct views vs. those he quotes etc. I’m still looking into it all. It’s an interesting health topic but also a complex one when it comes to how some of these ideas could be implemented in helpful, practical ways that benefit public health. There’s a lot of fear associated with these health discussions as well, on both sides of the aisle. And with fear comes misinformation on both sides.
A. He is not a medical researcher or in the medical field at all
B. He has a strong and erroneous agenda regarding vaccinations- a public health hazard for us with compromised immune systems
C. He ate roadkill and acquired a brain issue from doing so.
A medical expert should be in this seat. As an environmental attorney, he would possibly be a decent pick for environmental issues but Trump was clear in his speech that won’t happen. And Trump said in the same speech he would be let loose on health matters.
All valid concerns. And absolutely, we should have someone directly in the medical field handling these things. The vaccine issue is something I’ve noticed trending for a while now, with a lot of fear surrounding vaccinating children, and I do hope we can get to the bottom of that soon as vaccinations have been a huge help in eradicating disease or vastly lowering rates of diseases and the severity of diseases. I do feel like it’s helpful to wait and see what actually happens, as we can only accomplish so much with speculation.
I am going on what Trump said the other morning at his watch party.
