My daddy was recently diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. He is currently going through radiation and chemotherapy treatments. He recently said he would “be ok if anything happens to him” referring to being in heaven. I don’t believe he is saved however and realized through studying and just really conversations that I’m not either. I’m scared and concerned for his health and about our eternal destinations. I want to believe the Word of God and put my faith in Him. I struggling with doubt and fear at times, though, and really can’t ever seem to get any peace about my relationship with the Lord. Please, please pray. I want my daddy to be here but more importantly, I want us both to be in heaven with Jesus.

Christianity is simple.
Do you repent of your sin and do you accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour?
John3:16
I’ve attended church for 20 years now. It has been through an ongoing study and discussion, including the Pastor, about salvation that I’ve developed such doubt and fear about my own. Thanks for your response.
May I ask what you doubt about your salvation.
Hello Leann. I’m so sorry to hear about your fathers cancer and your doubt re your salvation. The thief on the cross said that Jesus must remember him when He goes to His Kingdom. Jesus told him, “Today you will be with me in paradise” This falls directly into line with Luke 12:8 where Jesus says, "whoever confesses me before men, I will confess before my Father who is in Heaven. So if you have accepted Jesus as your Saviour and you confess that regularly to anyone and everyone that will listen, you are going to go to Heaven. The Bible, Jesus and God guarantee that! Forget about being caught up in the confusing theology of salvation. Theology never got anyone into Heaven. Being a Christian is simply having faith in Jesus, and telling everyone about that faith and the reality of Jesus. God bless you Leann. You are going to be a strong witness for Christ!
I guess it’s just realizing I don’t have unwavering faith in the Bible. I want to. But i just have so many doubts and find myself questioning what I truly believe. I’ve prayed but find no real peace about anything.
There is nothing wrong with having doubts or questions.
Its finding and accepting answers that is critical.
May I suggest you talk with your pastor, or research in sites like answersingenesis your questions and doubts.
If you don’t mind a barrage of answers, post your questions here.
