Sharing the Word of God with Social Anxiety

How can I share God’s word with others when I suffer from severe social anxiety? I know that God says do not fear and do not be anxious. I force myself into social situations and it is extremely uncomfortable. I want to witness to others, but the anxiety makes it difficult to go to my own family gatherings, so talking to a stranger seems impossible.

Some people had out tracts at railroad stations of airports. There is a video tract that some have found useful. It is 19 minutes long. You might wan to download it an apss it along or pass along the link

If it is someone you. know you can ask if they are ever interested in hearing more about Christianity, you would be glad to answer whatever questions they have. Most people object to having something pushed on them. If you approach it as an offer they can pursue if interested, you might find less objection.

Two questions for you.

  1. Do you go out to work or to shop?
  2. Do you know what and why you believe?

If you go out either to work or to do your shopping etc you can wear tee shirts with Christian solgans/logo’s etc.

If you can answer ‘ What do you believe about Jesus? ‘ and ‘What evidence do you have for your belief?’’

Then you are witnessing as well as being prepared to talk about your faith.

You can also support others in your church or in missionary organisations by praying for them.

Does your church have people who go out witnessing and do they have a prayer group. Join that prayer group. The odds are it is only three or four people who once you get to know them will not trigger your social anxiety.

I do work, and I really like the idea of wearing Christian tee shirts.

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who was sent to earth to die on the cross for all of our sins. Because of this, if we have faith in Jesus and repent of our sins, our sins will be forgiven and we will have eternal life. Grace through faith alone, not through works.

The reason I believe is because of eyewitness testimony, and the fact that you can’t have a creation without a Creator.

My Church doesn’t have a group that goes out witnessing, but they do have prayer groups. I will look into joining them.

Thank you for the great information!

All great ideas! These can help me ease into getting around people. Thank you very much!

Another suggestion depending whether you work at a desk or at a work station!

Is to either put up a Christian poster, or verse that encourages you or to put on your desk a Christian book you are currently reading and to read it durring your lunch break.

Depending on your boss, the alturnative is to leave the book in your bag and read in while having lunch.

Someone will notice and want to know what you are reading and a conversation can follow.

One step at a time. God sees your pain. Perhaps instead of trying to do something you aren’t ready for, first spend some time healing the anxiety.

Counseling, therapy, support groups, dietary changes, experiment with different brain hacks like practice meditation, try the tapping method, try sour candy when you feel a panic attack coming (this only works a few times), and maybe consider trying medication with guidance from a licensed prodessional.

Read about triggers and journal, and try to connect the dots bwtween cause and effect.

There are a variety of methods for self discovery and improvement because you are not the only one who has ever struggled with this. People are constantly trying new things. And there is lots of research.

Just be leery of ingesting youtube and tik tok encouraged supplements, powders, etc because a lot of things are not regulated and may be unsafe.

One major benefit of going on a healing journey is that we experience God moving in our lives as we explore and heal and work through our issues. And by walking with God, by taking this transformational journey where we let go of the old and recieve the new, we gain a powerful witness to share with others- Especially for those who are able to witness the changes in our lives for themselves as we grow healthier, happier, and more satiafied. When they ask us, “What happened? How did you achieve this amazing improvement?” Then you have your opening to share Christ with them. And you will feel more capable and able to do so.
