Should Christians Believe in Dinosaurs? Is This Belief Consistent with Scripture?

As of yet there is NO concrete proof dinosaurs existed. None. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
a history professor sarcastic answers only makes one lean to there being none.
You prove to me, not me prove to you, that any one of any of the dinosaurs existed. You can’t. Bones mean nothing. Anyone can put any kind of bones together to form whatever they want. I grew up going to some of the absolute best museums as a kid in the 50’s-60’s, 70’s. I didn’t believe it then, I don’t believe it now.
What was their purpose? Why aren’t any of them around anywhere? If they existed slurely there would be a remnant left.
In order for dinosaurs to have existed then cavemen existed that grunted and groaned, couldn’t speak, had no form of intelligent thought. THATS IMPOSSIBLE. God created man in His own image. Adam and Eve didn’t walk around grunting, clubbing each other, have no understanding of life. Read The Book -The Bible. It is perfectly clear from mans first breath he was a human being , with a developed mind.
What possible reason would there be for dinosaurs? None.

That’s just silly. But welcome to Crosswalk anyway. :joy:

I’m guessing that the Royal Tyrell Museum wasn’t among your list of ‘some of the best museums’ you visited while growing up.

If you had a creepy neighbor and one day the police and medical examiners showed up with shovels in his backyard, and theydug up a skull or a femur, as examples-- would you still say “Bones mean nothing?”

Of course not-- bones are evidence-- and it’s as simple as that.

There is no proof dinosaurs existed. None.
What would’ve been their purpose?
Every animal /insect on earth has a purpose. From the teeniest little fish that cleans the teeth of the huge fish at the end of the day, to the snake to the crocodile to the fly. Whales, sharks, everything has a purpose. If dinosaurs were and are now extinct what was their purpose and what animal/insect now fulfills that purpose?
Scientist aren’t always right. History and archeologist aren’t always right. Getting them to admit it is another topic.
Whether dinosaurs existed or not what difference does that make in your relationship, your walk with God? Today? We will never be able to explain everything in the Bible. Not until we see Him face to face and our mortal, finite bodies/souls are changed.
Clearly, all that matters is : IS YOUR SOUL SAVED? IF SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THIS PRECIOUS LIFE GOD HAS GIVEN YOU? arguing/debating about things that don’t matter? Or TRULY helping people around you? Giving them shelter?food? Clothing? Spreading the message that God loves you.

Your reasoning is fraught with error, and an embarrassment to Christianity. Thinking like yours drives intelligent people from churches.

Nothing you posted makes sense.

The belief that God said “poof” and modern animals and humans just appeared isn’t proven, and has nothing to back it up.

Evolutionary biology has tremendous amounts of data Your concept that science is shady and make up information has no evidence at all.

Bones, dna, carbon dating, chemistry, geology, and paleo archaeology offer very reliable evidence of dinosaurs, and, their existence is proven.

You are in way over your head.

I apologize for coming off as snarky. I try to be factual and concise. It comes off has harsh at times. I will try to do better.

You made fair points, and didn’t come off nearly as harsh or brash as what you were responding to. To deny the validity of something true, is to deny truth altogether. It’s a stance incompatible with Christianity at its root.

umm… those remnants are called “bones.”

Not only bone, but skin fragments in a few cases. To say that all the dinosaur remains worldwide are some sort of hoax is intellectually dishonest, and a denial of reality.

And we have nests and clutches of eggs.

Yep-- 30 minutes from my childhood home in Southern Alberta, at Milk River…

In 1987, teenage fossil enthusiast Wendy Sloboda discovered dinosaur eggshell fragments along the Milk River Ridge in southern Alberta, Canada. A team sent from the University of Calgary found Canada’s first dinosaur nesting site, including fossilized nests, eggs, and embryonic remains of Hypacrosaurus stebingeri, a new species of hadrosaur.

You seem to think those who disagree with you have not read the Bible. I would counter by saying you can read- but not understand, leading to a literal view not based in language studies. Embracing ignorance doesn’t make you correct, and you are very, very wrong.

Those “bones” could be from anything. And who decided that is how those “bones” actually go? A scientist and archeologist who deny the very existence of God??? No thanks.

Carbon dating has been proven wrong. And your response is what drives people away from believing in God.
Your audacity that you “think” you have the answers proves your inability to have any.
I don’t doubt your a bot anyway

The 1970s rumors of carbon dating not being accurate were just that- rumors, unsubstantiated much like the Beast of Belgium computer used by the antichrist.

Do you know what a bot is?

Look, there are many topics in this forum that you may be better equipped to discuss- but you are sounding like a toddler explaining why she should have a cookie in this one.

Dear Ellie–

When they find those bones encased in sandstone, or limestone, in ice, or even encrusted in plain old mud-- in various layers and depths of sediment, in whole skeletons… nobody has to figure out “how those bones go.” They just have to carefully pick them up. Like the remains of these mummified baby woolly mammoth that was found in the Canadian arctic.

It’s not some sort of trickery-- it’s evidence that there were once woolly mammoths wandering the region.

No assembly required.

Sometimes sarky is deserved.

So how does anyone determine what is true?
How do you know that what you are posting here is factually correct?

Have you ever investigated what bible believing Christians say, from there scientfic investigations of the facts say has happened in and following the flood?
See Answers in Genesis, use there search function to research fossils, etc etc.

Both s ientists and historians are meticulous in their research. Everything is peer reviewed, a proceeds that can keep research from being published if necessary.

The problem is not the academic community, rather the ill educated spouting off about topics they can’t or won’t invest the time to understand.

It is not just ordinary people who question evolution, but scientists other than answersingenesis and creation.com etc but also secular scientists.
