Some restaurants add service charges, employee benefit fees, or other surcharges to the bill, sometimes leaving customers surprised by the final total.
Should restaurants be required to include all mandatory fees in their advertised menu prices so customers know exactly what they’ll pay?
Or is it reasonable for restaurants to list these charges separately as long as they’re disclosed?
Would knowing about additional fees in advance change where you choose to eat?
