Single mother in need of help

My children’s father is behind $50,000 in back child support. I am raising my kids with no help from anyone. I have no family, no friends, and no support system. It’s very difficult trying to work enough hours for 2 people to make up for him not contributing not even a single penny, plus be home enough to spend time with my kids. I am also constantly under severe demonic attack. My finances are being siphoned faster than I can work to make enough hours to afford the bare minimum. I am being slammed with one tragedy after another, and am at risk of losing everything I’ve worked extremely hard for including shelter and employment. My children’s father wants nothing to do with our kids, and his family doesn’t care about or acknowledge my kid’s existence.

$50,000 is a tempting enough target to be attractive to a lawyer. You might find a law student would would take less than a third to file against your ex-husband on a contingency basis.

Many single moms live in apartments that have many other single moms and they often act as a support network.

Finding a small church that is single mom friendly can also be a support.

What you are carrying would exhaust anyone. You are trying to be both provider and parent, working to keep a roof over your children’s heads while also trying to give them the love and presence they need. And to do all of this while feeling that you have no family, friends, or support system must feel incredibly lonely. I am truly sorry that you and your children are facing such a heavy season.

But please don’t let the silence or absence of their father convince you that you are alone in this fight. You may feel as though you have been left to carry everything by yourself, but the Lord sees the sacrifices that no one else sees—the long hours, the bills, the worries, and the moments when you have to find strength even when you feel like you have nothing left.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1.

I am praying that God will make a way for you and your children. May He protect your home and employment, provide for every need, and open doors that you could not have opened on your own. I pray for relief from the financial pressure and for the right practical support, resources, and people to come alongside you.

And when you feel as though one hardship after another is coming against you, remember the promise: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5. Whatever darkness you feel surrounding your life right now, it does not have the final word.

Lord, strengthen this mother when she is tired. Give her wisdom for every decision, peace in the middle of uncertainty, and courage to keep taking the next step. Protect her children and surround them with love. Bring provision where there is lack and stability where there is fear.

I also pray that justice and responsibility will be pursued regarding the support owed to these children, and that the right people and resources will help her navigate that process. “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” — Psalm 9:9.

Please hold on. You may not see how everything will come together right now, and you do not have to solve your entire life in one day. Sometimes faith is simply finding enough strength for the next step and trusting God with the steps after that.

Your children may not have the support of everyone who should be there for them, but they have a mother who is fighting for them, loving them, and refusing to give up. That matters more than you may realize.

May God send help from unexpected places, restore what has been drained from your life, protect what you have worked so hard to build, and remind you in the days ahead that this difficult chapter is not the end of your story.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5.

Keeping you and your children lifted in prayer. May help, provision, protection, and hope find their way to you. :folded_hands::heart:
