St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on March 17, and I was curious what everyone does for it. Even if you’re not Catholic or don’t really observe saints’ days, do you have any fun traditions? I’m running a 5k with my 13-year-old this year. ![]()

My wife and I always go out to a fancy dinner on March 17th, and give each other presents, with a mushy card. But, it is our anniversary, so…
First, God bless the two of you. I would root for you, but that sounds like more effort than I’ve got. Second, I do not really do anything. In a different universe, far, far away, I used to be in the world thing. Wear green, eat corned beef and cabbage, and drink beer. Now, just another day for me.

Hey, happy early Anniversary. May God bless your time celebrating each other, and may He be with you always.
Peter
The same for me. It used to be just another day to party. Wear green and drink green beer. Now the day comes and goes without notice. Who is St. Patrick anyways? I’ll have to google it.
Thank you.
Hehe.
That’s an excellent reason to go out that day. ![]()
Happy almost anniversary!
I’m running a 5k to kick off an Irish festival too! It’s not actually till the 22nd, though.
My husband and I both have Irish heritage (him a lot, me a little), so we love St. Patrick’s Day. I grew up celebrating with the full corned beef dinner so I usually still make that, although it’s never as good as my mom makes it! One time I even made a Guinness chocolate cake!
I also love reading about St. Patrick and the history of the holiday. The book Flame over Tara was one of my favorites on St. Patrick and the Christianization of Ireland.
St. Patrick’s Day usually takes place during March Madness, so, as a huge March Madness fan, I also associate it with watching basketball. ![]()
