Super Spiritual Vigilance

Super Spiritual Vigilance

Super Spiritual Vigilance,
Could be described as Spiritual Meerkat Effect…
The opposite of [Super] Ostrich Effect;
And there’s plenty of THAT about…

I’m not sure you can be Vigilant ENOUGH?
Unless it interferes with your Day to Day routine…
Save with the obvious Caveat, that it requires that;
Some element or component of that requires suborning…

It were not God’s will to be frozen with Fear,
Wholly unable to function in the real World…
But a certain Proactive seeking the Lord:
What were His perfect and acceptable will?

But for some will their Oil run out,
That is according to the Bible a plain fact…
And they will seek to buy it of those who have;
We know how that Story goes…

Personally I find a much worse Foe than mere Foolish anyone,
Is the Idiot who wrecks everyone and everything about…
These sorts creep into Peoples’ House commiting repeat Larcenies and Crimes;
And Tax everyone from the State to the Common Man…

These of a surety require super vigilance,
Spiritually AND Physically across the Board…
They are but wretched stains on Society;
Adding nothing to me or to you…

Repeat Offenders and Felons,
Enemies of even their own sort…
And the Person too Cowardly to deny letting them in;
Has no love whatsoever for God, Man, themselves or you…

Are you going to engage, and learn and grow with our community, or are you just using this to post your poetry?

Peter

God does call His people to be watchful, but watchful does not mean suspicious of everybody. The first place Scripture tells you to stand guard is your own heart, “keep thy heart with all diligence” ~Proverbs 4:23. If the inside is right, you won’t have to live paranoid about everything outside.

The foolish virgins were not condemned because they failed to manage society. They were unready for the Bridegroom ~Matthew 25:1-13. The issue was relationship with Christ, not control over people.

And even in a broken world, the believer’s posture stays different. “love your enemies” ~Matthew 5:44 and “the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men” ~2 Timothy 2:24. We stay alert without becoming hard.

Biblical vigilance means living prepared for Jesus, not living angry at everyone else.
