The chosen the few

Greetings
This is interesting

Revelation 17:14 (NKJV) These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful."

These will make war with the Lamb and the chosen, the saints will return at the third coming the second coming is the gathering, but the third is to make war over the earth at the third coming.

Matthew 22:14 (ASV) For many are called, but few chosen.

One hundred and forty-four thousand are chosen.

Matthew 22:8 (NKJV) Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Many are calling, but few are chosen

Matthew 7:14 (NKJV) Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and few find it.

One hundred and forty-four thousand are chosen, why? And who are they?

Galatians 1:15 (The Gospel) But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, even from the day when I formed you by the seed of my father in my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace, to be Chosen

Revelation 7:4-8 describes the initial reference to the 144,000: “Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000…” (continuing with 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes)

However, immediately after this passage, Revelation 7:9-10 presents a broader picture: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”

This juxtaposition is significant because it shows that the 144,000 are not the only people “set aside” for God. In fact, the subsequent “great multitude that no one could count” suggests a much larger group of faithful believers.

The 144,000 appear again in Revelation 14:1-5, where they are described as:

  • Having the Lamb’s and Father’s names written on their foreheads
  • Singing a new song that only they could learn
  • Being “firstfruits to God and the Lamb”
  • Being those who “did not defile themselves” and “follow the Lamb wherever he goes”

Looking at the original Greek text, a few important points emerge:

  1. The word used for “sealed” (ἐσφραγισμένοι - esphragismenoi) implies protection and ownership
  2. The term “firstfruits” (ἀπαρχὴ - aparche) suggests they are the first of a larger harvest, not the only harvest

There are several other passages that support the idea of a broader group of overcomers:

  1. Revelation 12:11 - “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony”
  2. 1 John 5:4-5 - “For everyone born of God overcomes the world… Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”
  3. Revelation 3:21 - “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne”

regardless of how one interprets the 144,000, the broader biblical context clearly shows that God’s salvation and the ability to overcome are not limited to this group. The “great multitude that no one could count” demonstrates God’s inclusion of people from all nations, tribes, and tongues in His redemptive plan.

Limited Atonement

Who can enter the Kingdom?

Let’s look at what the word says.

Many are called but few are chosen, Matthew 22: 14

This is from the parable of the banquet, Luke 14:16-24; Matt 22:2-14; Matt 20:20-28; Luke 14:7-14.

What are the few, that are chosen and how, and why, what is a calling, or the ones that are called.(Romans 10:11, 13).

Romans 8:29-39; [1 John 2:2] Predestinate the firstborn of God’s elect?

Luke 18:1-8 God’s elect? Not God avenge his elect.

Eph 1:3-5 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world.

This is called limited atonement.

([Romans 8:30] (Romans 8:30 ESV - And those whom he predestined… | Biblia), 33; Titus 1:1).

Visitation certificate and registration

There are those who are Selective to Salvation and those who are chosen before the foundation of man or the earth.

Firstborns are chosen, these are Selective.

id be interested in knowing how you came to the conclusion about the first-borns being selective for salvation?

This juxtaposition is significant because it shows that the 144,000 are not the only people “set aside” for God. In fact, the subsequent “great multitude that no one could count” suggests a much larger group of faithful believers.

There are those already since the foundation of the world have been chosen these are the few who will not go through the Great Tribulation; they’re already marked by Christ from the creation and the Father for as in the word

But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
John 5:38-39

These are who testify Christ’s deity in heaven, then these are those who confess the name of Christ on earth

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, those days will be shortened.
Matt 24:21-22
This is just the beginning

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
Rev 7:9-10

**After the Great Tribulation, these are those who come out wearing their white garments in the blood of the Lamb

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so, will I multiply the seed of David, my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
Moreover, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
Jer 33:22-23

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies
Gen 22:17

And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So, he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation and wash their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.
Rev 7:14-15

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Heb 13:7-9

they are already ELECTED
But he or she if you endure unto the end the same shall be saved.
Matt 24:13

The question was Why selected salvation means Limited Atonement

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:24-25 (KJV)

But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
Yet it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:42-45

Limited Atonement that Christ died only for the sins of His elect

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2 (KJV)

When Christ says for the whole world, it means Christ that Judge and can Justify all of humanity

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.
For to this end, we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially those who believe.
These things command and teach.
1 Tim 4:9-11

no one is, but word is the word, whether you’re not ready
You are saying to the Lord, NOT NOW and He says

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Isaah 55: 6

The great day of the Lord is near;
It is near and hastens quickly.
The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter;
There the mighty men shall cry out.
That day is a day of wrath,
A day of trouble and distress,
A day of devastation and desolation,
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
Zephaniah 1: 14-15

And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
Luke 12: 19-20

Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
