News of Pope Francis’s death has sent shockwaves through the global Christian community. As head of the Roman Catholic Church since 2013, Francis was known for his humility, emphasis on mercy, and outreach to the marginalized. His passing marks the end of an era that bridged deep traditions with modern dialogue.

For some, he was a symbol of compassion and reform—bringing attention to the poor, advocating for environmental care, and calling the Church back to a Christ-centered life. Others wrestled with the ways he challenged conventional boundaries and opened new conversations within the Church and beyond.

Now, with the Chair of St. Peter vacant, the world is left grieving, reflecting, and asking: What legacy has Pope Francis left behind? How will his death impact global Christianity, interfaith relations, and the unity of believers? And how should non-Catholic Christians view the role and influence of the Pope in the broader Body of Christ?

In the wake of Pope Francis’s passing, I found this article about lessons all Christians should learn from him and his leadership.
This paragraph stood out to me: “Pope Francis hugged people with diseases, kissed the feet of teenagers in a juvenile detention center, allowed a child to sit in his chair while he spoke to a crowd, and made a personal phone call to comfort a rape victim. The pontiff went out of his way to show people that they were important to him and to God. All Christians should be sending this message.”

How can we, as Christians, show all types of people that they are important to God?
