The reason I struggle with patriotism explained with Waffle House butter

I recently visited a Waffle House the other day. The butter I was served wasn’t butter at all.

When I looked at it I was like “Why do people think this is God’s country when all our food is science experiments, why is God ok with this” it really bothers me. Like does God want us to eat this?

As weird as this sounds, I think this sometimes. Why is European food much cleaner and better? Does God want us to get Cancer and Heart Disease so we can focus more on eternity?

And it’s not just the butter. that was just an example. The country feels very decided. It’s hard to love a country that’s half forbidden (meaning California and the Northeast are very liberal and ungodly) I’m currently worried about my state becoming blue and Christians having to flee it.

Third is people from other countries. Unlike the past, we now can understand what people from other countries are like, and they are not evil, uncultured, or barbaric. Iranians for example are very hospitable and hard working. Yet many boomers I know say Iranians are all terrorist who hate America. My town has many immigrants from Eastern Europe who have contributed positively to the society and yet people still have issues with them.

So, I am not jabbing at any body who is patriotic. I am saying that there is a reason young people may struggle with patriotism. And it does bring up the question. The Bible says God shows no partiality. How come he blesses America more than anyone else? And just so America can poison themselves and produce trashy entertainment such as Euphoria and Heated Rivalry?

The last thing I should mention is many of the evils such as gay pride did not come from China or Iran. It came from USA. So when I see a patriot saying “The American pride flag is my pride flag” they are basically saying they are proud of the country that created what they hate.

Sorry about this, I just came to realized the root of one of my struggles.

There is no room for patriotism of any kind in Jesus kingdom. You cant love the kingdom and the world at the same time. The world is God’s enemy.

I disagree. I think we can be patriotic but not ethnocentric and ultranationalist

@Josiah But the world is God’s enemy as scripture said. Why be patriotic with an evil nation? My patriotic love is for Jesus kingdom alone

I’m trying to keep your from Peter bombarding you with his views (sorry, Peter, I’m not saying your bad but I don’t want an argument on this thread)

We live in a fallen and corrupted world. God didn’t do that, we fell.
