And for these sins, may we seek forgiveness. And may God forgive us.
As judgement sweeps America in the coming days, let us think on our sins and seek forgiveness and behave in ways that best represent humbling ourselves before the Lord, to make our hearts contrite, moved toward true repentance and atonement.
- Building Walls Between us and our Neighbors.
- Waging Unjust Wars with our neighbors, without provocation, for selfish gain, instead of pursuing peace.
- For persecuting and attacking the Foreigners within our borders, for we too were once foreigners in this land. We too once came here looking for freedom and fresh starts and safety from persecution. When this land is not even ours but God’s, taken from a people that was also unfairly and unjustly treated, who deserved better from a people proclaiming to be Children of God with His Holy Word.
- Being Prideful which caused Lucifer and his angels to fall from Grace. Being Prideful, in our Patriotism, like other Nations in the past who also once took land that was not theirs to take, inch by inch encroaching and surpassing the boundaries of others, who rounded up people as if they were animals and prepared them for slaughter, and who then slaughtered them, the innocent, based on differences, based on stereotypes and propaganda, based on bias and prejudice alone with no true justification. Slaughtering even children. For the Nation was created by God, as was the land where it sits, and can easily be wiped out by God for the blood it sheds and the wickedness it pursues.
- For the neglect of children, the elderly, the widow, the orphan, for the impoverished and the hungry, the homeless and the sick. Neglect, Abuse, mistreatment, for ordering them away and out of sight, for tearing down their camps where they found rest and nudging them away when they had no where else to go. For you too once had nowhere to go and God made room for you.
- For allowing the Church of God to be corrupted by politics, by those with political agendas, by those who embody a focus on wealth and money and outer appearances instead of compassion, kindness, mercy and grace, and what makes one beautiful within. Allowing God’s Word to be twisted to attack the innocent, and to justify mistreatment, to be used as a rallying cry to go forth and do great evil before the Lord.
- For tearing down institutions that protected the innocent and vulnerable, that provided health care for the sick, that alerted to weather events, that guarded us from enemy movement, that maintained the infrastructure, that safeguards the food and water, that protects the land from desecration by pollution and technological advancements that poison the land and the water, by the mistreatment of animals kept locked tightly in cages together, caged with no room to move and nestled in their feces, harvested for food in sickness and disease without a thought or care of the consequence to those who feed on them or the creatures themselves.
- For refusing to listen to Wisdom. Regarding what sustains life, and keeps good relations, and what does not.
For these, Lord, please forgive us. And help us to learn the error of our ways. May the days that come be enough for us to change direction and pursue Your Peace and LOVE once again. As we sit in the dark, without electricity, without warmth, without phones and televisions and computers, without Propaganda News Outlets feeding our brains poison that leads to the Darkening of our hearts and minds, maybe the devil’s spell can be broken. Maybe we can shake awake. Maybe seeing the terror of the Ice and Cold to come may turn us from our Wicked Ways and lead us to Right Behavior once again.
May your Grace and Mercies cover us, all of us, the whole Nation and all the World that will experience This Storm, that loss of life be truly minimized. That no one be lost.
Not my will but Your Will be done, my Lord.
Please forgive us our sins and hear our prayers. Hear our cries for Mercy, Lord. Please spare the innocent, the homeless, the elderly, the most vulnerable from your Wrath, from the path of This Storm.
May everyone by guided by Your Holy Angels that none be lost. Guide us by Your Wisdom. Guide us toward what will save and protect life. And raise up heroes and heroines as in days of old to arise and lead Your People in their Darkest Hour. To lead all Peoples, in our Darkest Hour. That all might be saved and none perish or be lost.
